SCORE!!! Just when you're feeling a bit behind on things from being sick and spreading yourself too thin. The Instagram community chimes in with a find like this. FOUR of these gems! 4x2 dove joined cork lined metal french cleat shadow boxes! Thanks to @joos1980 for hollering when her store was trashing these fixtures out. A lot of retail stores trash their fixtures. There's just not a good system or manpower to donate or out online for sale. I know. My old stores would do this if no one had a use or space for them. .
You have to keep your eye out for store closings and even drop in and talk to a manager especially during seasonal changes. If they have time they'll shout out to you to see if you are in need..
I had a few hours to myself this afternoon so I ran to catch the Rachel Whiteread at the Tate before it finished. Having spent Sunday morning at a birthday party at Zap Space trampolining in Stratford I feel I deserved it! (Great party with lovely people 💓) I was in my last year at art school when Whiteread won the Turner Prize in 1993 with her house sculpture in Bow, E3.. A treat to revisit her work, see video footage of Bow in the 90’s & nurture my love of abstract/minimalist sculpture 💓 #rachelwhiteread#instaminim
Spring is officially on it's way with the deinstall of the last holiday display for the year. Was reunited with my old visual assistant from Anthro and a dearer friend. It was so motivating being around another creative business woman and amazing sharer of knowledge. Thanks @theranjon for helping with the dirty work. And thanks @smoothdowntown for letting us play in your space.
Colour inspiration 🌈 at the #RachelWhiteread exhibition. What an incredible exhibition! I felt emotional and overwhelmed in a good way. Her work was beautifully displayed in this one vast room at Tate Britain. I spent a couple of hours in there, just taking in all the work, walking around and sitting. immersed myself in taking pictures, filming, watching other museum goers enjoy her work & listening into conversations between people about her work.... Thoroughly enjoyed watching the video of her Mile End House installation that she won the Turner prize for in 1993. I’ve always enjoyed her work this exhibition made me love it. ❤⠀

This is the site for the artwork in the park. Seems like in the middle of the forest and it kind of is. But actually it is along the path inside the park that leads from one animal to another. Sorry for the bad quality of the aerial photo - best I could find while making these scetches🌲 Swipe for a more distant look.

There’s still time to see Mike Kelley Kandors exhibit at @hauserwirth in DTLA. This mixed media projection is just one of the many fascinating pieces included in this large scale show. As a fan of the late Mike Kelley, seeing everything come to life right here in LA is now one of my favorite experiences of 2018 so far. The exhibit closes this Saturday with a free party and musical performances inspired by Kelley from anti-rock bands from 7-10pm. #welikela#thingstodoinla#laartist
