Never let any one tell you....
“you can’t do that” 🙄😝
Today I couldn’t stop smiling, as I was thinking about my qualification to ITU World Championships...but not for the reason of qualification, but because I’ve always been told my whole life “you’re slow”. 🙄🙄
I played baseball my whole life, and in high school I used to have one of the highest batting averages, but my coach used to bench me cause I was too slow?! I would get to hit as a DH, and then pulled so a “faster” kid could run for me! 😒😒
During baseball tryouts, once we made the team we had to run a 6:30 mile in order to play our first game...why?! I have no idea!! But, my junior year of high school I couldn’t do it, and instead of my coach working with me...he benched me.
(Thanks for the help A-Hole 😒🖕🏻)
Fast forward to today...I’ll be competing in the Sprint Triathlon (the fastest triathlon race of them all) representing the USA 🇺🇸! I couldn’t feel more honored, or vindicated!
I never intended for any of this to happen with triathlon, but the more I push the more results I see! I can run a single 6:30 mile today no problem, and I’ve even ran a 7:15 average 5k OFF the bike!
At the end of the day, never let anyone tell you that you can’t do something! If you believe you can or have the desire to do something, then you should!!
I quit baseball after my junior year because I was tired of the way I was being treated. I had been playing baseball for 14yrs at that point and gave it up cause of what 1 person made me believe!
Don’t let that be you! If you want it...DO IT! Today I doing something I never thought possible, and I’m qualifying for things I never even thought about! Be you! 💥👊🏻
By the way, this picture was from my first ever top spot on a podium...this last season! At a sprint triathlon in Boulder!

Medal Monday: The Flower Pot Edition. I absolutely adore my cute flower pot won for my age group on Saturday. The pot is decorated with the pre-K’s students handprints and inside are flower bulbs to plant in the spring. I cannot wait to see what blooms in a few months! 🌸
A cuidarse y a amarse mucho.
💪👊 HECK TO THE YEAH! NEGATIVE SPLITS BABY!!!!!!!! 👊💪
Of course I am that crazy girl that likes to run in the rain!!!
1) I HATE treadmills and try to avoid gyms and all their germs at all costs! 😩
2) It could totally rain on race day so I definitely want at least one run in the rain in my training just to be prepared! 👍
3) I run faster in the rain and I get so much joy out of sloshing through puddles and being that pedestrian that gets covered in a big wave as a car passes by! 😝😂
Y'all I couldn't contain my excitement as I skipped down my road back to my house and sang outloud and danced! I think this was my first negative splits run and 30-40 seconds faster than my average paces!! And it all felt EASY and FUN! 🙌
Mile 1 - 10:07.8
Mile 2 - 10:06.6
Mile 3 - 10:00.2
Finishing up with 6 strides (20 seconds long, light strides + 40 seconds walking)
THIS was the start to week 5 that I needed as I get closer and closer to the end of my 6 week training to get my 5k under 30!!!
