I used to think people were crazy when they said that pain is an emotional barrier. Most people, like I did, assume that their pain comes from bad posture, bad habits, lack of exercise or just out of nowhere. Sometimes this is true, but it is just as likely that pain comes from suppressed emotions, work stress, anxiety, sadness, diet, loneliness etc. etc. Science is starting to back this up too. It’s not just crazy Yoga talk anymore. From my personal experience, the years that I experienced chronic pain were my most stressful, uncertain, busy years of my life... maybe my body was trying to tell me something? Listen to your body. It’s smarter than you may think. ✌🏼

1. Cut Back on Sugars and Starches!!
These are the foods that stimulate secretion of insulin the most. If you didn't know already, insulin is the main fat storage hormone in the body.
2. Eat Protein, Fat and Vegetables!!
Assemble meals out of a protein source, a fat source and a low-carb vegetable. This will put you into the (20-50) (individually different) gram carb range and drastically lower your insulin levels.
3. Lift Weights!!
Larger muscles burn more calories and more fat..... While cardio burns calories and fat when you're performing it, high rep strength training has what is known as high EPOC or "Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption." This is a fancy term for saying how long your metabolism is elevated after exercise. #dlpt#personaltrainer#coach#instructor#workoutmotivation#motivation#advice#knowledge#keepitsimple#leanmuscle#tone#ripped#abs#nutrition#food#training#gym#lakes#lakedistrict#cumbria

I’ve been trying to be more mindful in my daily life, but that got me thinking - what about the night? Sometimes I come home and completely check out/ mindlessly scroll on instagram. Even while tired, are there ways that we can be more mindful in simple, yet meaningful ways before bed? Click the link in my bio for my 2018 nighttime aspirations. Let me know in the comments below what you do to unwind from the day! 🌛🌸🌜
