I get taco salads everywhere. This was the best taco salad of my entire life. Also the biggest. I didn't even come close to finishing and I definitely ate the most glorious taco shell ever. Super sad that I didn't find this place until two weeks before moving away, and to think we only went there because literally everywhere else is closed because of the snow and ice. #notketo #thetacosaladofmylife

Happy #transformationtuesday 😬😬 sooooo I have been M.I.A. recently on here posting because I have figured out insta has like a Snapchatyy feature and I’m loving it.. sooo yeah 🤷🏾‍♀️😭🤣 but in all seriousness lots going on at home and 🦈 week had me hurt but I’m back!! I wanted to share this pic because when I took it last week for transformation Tuesday i was soo down on myself! I couldn’t see the changes in between the pics, I was bloated, and caught myself being mean to myself which caused me to not post it ☹️ I look at it today and can see what I didn’t last week and this made me realize that the mental game that comes with weight loss is crazy! I’m happy I can see the differences today and know that these feelings can/will resurface again but I also know that when they do,  I will keep pushing through it because it’s all worth it in the end! .

Homemade crispy wings were on the menu tonight!  Here's how I made them:
1) toss in a bag with baking powder (I did 1-2 tbsp for 24 wings)
2) salt and pepper them
3) bake at 250 for about a half hour
4) flip, season, and bake at 450 for another half hour
5) flip and sprinkle with parm and broil for 5 minutes
6) Enjoy the perfection

There’s nothing wrong with either side. Some people still have this misperception that lifting weights will make women look huge and not feminine. This is not true at all! You’d actually have to put in an extreme amount of work to build that much muscle as a female if that’s the look you’re trying to achieve. I encourage any female that is having doubts about strength training to just do it!!! Lifting weights was the best thing that I decided to do for myself. I mean who doesn’t want to be healthier, stronger, and curvier?! 💪

Okay so. Here's my dinner. Took longer to shower than I thought. Anyways, tonight's dinner consists of the other half of my sirloin that I cook last night, the remaining broccoli from my omelette last night as well, and some quinoa and brown rice. This SHOULD be closing off my daily required intake but we'll see. Quinoa is a delicious mega protein and with the Sirloin gives me a hearty was meal. Gonna finish my night off with ionno something I ran out of milk last night. Smh...gotta wait til payday to enjoy my lean shake. I could use water but to hell with that. 
Today was the my first time fully fasting until 3pm. No breakfast or lunch. Just water and black coffee. I Did have some cravings but I distracted myself with videos, talking to my co-workers, and constantly moving around. It worked. The black coffee was so disgusting I forgot I was hungry so that was helpful as well lol. So far I can honestly say this intermittent fasting is not easy but I'm pretty strong minded. Plus I have @cecemechell on this fasting journey with me, who started yesterday on hers. If anyone is considering intermittent fasting I highly suggest you have a partner to push you. 
Day 2. So far so good. Can't wait for results.

I’m a little short on my macros so I’ll have to figure out what to eat next. * 1 tsp Disaronno

First, whip up the cream until you have stiff peaks, then added the cheese and continue to whip until its incorporated. Add in one tsp of amaretto liquor for a subtle almondy flavour. Finish with a touch of Dutch processed chocolate powder (unsweetened).

You can too!  No need for a gym.  Start walking, running, doing jumping jacks, or jump rope.  Get a kettlebell, or do some yoga. There are so many options for anyone to choose from.  Whatever your strengths or weaknesses are, you can do something, start out slow, it does not have to be a race. 2017 was a year not full of fitness accomplishments for me but one in which I learned a lot about fitness, health and nutrition. Some key takeaways for health and nutrition were:

1) The gut flora/biome has a significant influence on our whole body and even the brain.
2) Artificial sweeteners don’t just pass through your system without influencing anything like I previously believed but they significantly alter gut flora. I used to take in sucralose all the time with energy drinks like monsters and rockstars and in my coffee and tea. Now I’m opting for @guruenergydrink when I have the urge. Great stuff!
3) I used to believe that IIFYM was an effective tool, meaning you could eat foods that weren’t so healthy but it was all good as long as they fit your macros. But with everything I’ve learned about food and the gut as well as food’s role in autoimmune diseases, I’ve concluded that those things should still be avoided. It fosters an unhealthy relationship with food.
4) Protein requirements pushed by the fitness industry and supplement companies are simply a ploy to get you to buy more product! Research shows that the upper limits of protein consumption should be about 0.6-0.8g per lb of body weight for natural athletes seeking peak performance. 
5) Undulating calories and focusing on a daily average over a weeks time seems to be more effective that sticking to a strict daily caloric intake and encourages metabolic flexibility.
6) Individual variance is a HUGE factor! One method of eating that may help someone lose fat or build muscle may not be optimal for another. It’s key to learn your body, develop a healthy relationship with food and find what works optimally for you.

I used to take in sucralose all the time with energy drinks like monsters and rockstars and in my coffee and tea. Now I’m opting for @guruenergydrink when I have the urge. Great stuff! 3) I used to believe that IIFYM was an effective tool, meaning you could eat foods that weren’t so healthy but it was all good as long as they fit your macros. But with everything I’ve learned about food and the gut as well as food’s role in autoimmune diseases, I’ve concluded that those things should still be avoided. It fosters an unhealthy relationship with food. 4) Protein requirements pushed by the fitness industry and supplement companies are simply a ploy to get you to buy more product! Research shows that the upper limits of protein consumption should be about 0.6-0.8g per lb of body weight for natural athletes seeking peak performance. 5) Undulating calories and focusing on a daily average over a weeks time seems to be more effective that sticking to a strict daily caloric intake and encourages metabolic flexibility. 6) Individual variance is a HUGE factor! One method of eating that may help someone lose fat or build muscle may not be optimal for another. It’s key to learn your body, develop a healthy relationship with food and find what works optimally for you. Of course there’s much more but that’s enough for this post. Omg!!!! I had just gotten home from the store and was unloading the car so the garage door was open as was the front door. I saw a guy through my kitchen window crouching and walking towards my front door. I walked to the door way with out thinking and said “Can I help you?!” And he stopped, looked at me and picked up my sons BMX bike and took off! Then I saw another guy Next to my suburban IN MY GARAGE stealing my husbands bike! I started screaming so loud and I ran back in the house and called 911 and was just screaming for my husband (thank God He was home!) He heard me screaming, he ran outside, got in his car, chased them down, caught one of the guys, fought him!! and held him down until the cops came and arrested him! The guy with my husbands bike got away but we got Shane’s bike back. My husband is my hero! I share this just to remind you to be careful! Be aware! You never know who’s around or what they will do! I’m thankful they didn’t try to come inside or that my kids weren’t out there when they came! Thankful for the police that came super fast and the 911 dispatcher that got tons of details from me while it was fresh in my mind.

Day 16 of 100 - complete!! Today I learned that I think I might try out the OMAD plan (Keto style of course). Not worrying about food all day & knowing I can eat whatever Keto goodies with my One Meal a Day is quite liberating.  I also learned today that I could probably fast at least 36 hours without any issues at all and maybe even more. I’m not ready to explore that method of intermittent fasting right now but I do think I might start narrowing my eating window .....maybe. I’m fickle. I kinda prefer to shoot for that 16 hour fast and go from there on a day by day basis. Well that was a lot of words 😜 .

Transformation Tuesday! 2014➡️2018. Before I was a teacher I was a server. Different hours, different life. Drinking with friends after work and venting about how horrible people can be eating out. Worst part is I didn’t even realize there was a problem with my health (mental/physical). Now I’m a teacher and my bedtime is when the rush would just start while serving. I miss my old work friends but I don’t necessarily miss serving. Life’s funny.

maybe you eat vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, paleo, keto. maybe you count calories, macros, weight watchers points. maybe you do intermittent fasting, maybe you eat six meals a day, maybe you eat three. maybe you follow clean eating, whole 30, or flexible dieting, maybe you live by the 80/20 rule. the possibilities are endless. -
so which one is best?
my honest answer is NONE OF THEM. -
all of these “diets” have pros and cons. they will likely all produce better results for some individuals than others. some are more sustainable, some are more extreme. all likely have some followers who will fight tooth and nail to defend why the diet they follow is the single best thing since sliced bread, and then they’ll argue why sliced bread is actually the worst invention ever bc carbs are evil 🤷🏼‍♀️

so let’s be real here. we are all different, physically, mentally, emotionally, and so on. we all have different goals. it’s quite possible that the diet that works for you to achieve your goals will not work for your best friend, sister, neighbor, the girls you see on instagram, etc. -
if I can give you just one piece of advice it is experiment with your own body. try a few things and see what happens. maybe you make serious progress toward your goals and feel amazing, maybe you don’t. you might have to try a few things before you find what works best for you. just please for the love of god do not take every article with word diet in the title as gospel and think it is the magic thing you’ve been waiting your whole life for.
