Bit of a catch-up and now back on track with #100daysprojectnz My husband and I have both been feeling the effects of not eating so thoughtfully in the past couple of weeks. It's rubbish seeing a cycle of bad habits form and turns into a bit of a catch 22; energy levels low, so eat easy to prep processed foods, which in turn makes you feel even more lethargic so you make the same less that idea choices again going forward. Also a little shout out to @d_e_a_r_7 for putting the idea of stuffed squash in my head, that dish was so amazing pretty much the meal highlight of the week and maybe the only really nutritious thing I ate.

My last two weeks have been very stressful and my weight jumped up very high due to cortisol and hormones did I panic? A little bit I know my body, was I still in a deficit? Yes so I was still progressing the rate of water retention can mask fat loss of it is equal, now that the stress has resolved and that water weight has shifted I am consistently weighing in almost 2kg down! So I'm calling today a good day despite peeking at the scale. My plan all along was not to worry about if I got on the scale or not. I want to break the daily weighing cycle and so far this is the second time I've checked the scale instead of five times. I think ill be able to make it to Tuesday. I had to know if things were moving in the right direction and they are. I knew by working on this habit I wouldn't be perfect but I'd do better than if I didn't focus on it at all. Overall I'm happy with my day and my progress.

If you fell off track with your fitness journey or have never even started one and are thinking about it, I strongly encourage you to start right up! In the very beggining of my weightloss journey, I started by walking on the treadmil. Doing 1/2 mile walks then over time increasing it to 1 mile etc. It wasnt til about almost a year where I was ready to hit the weights. I look back now and I am just amazed that even tho it wasnt much of a workout in the early stages of my journey, it was worth something and it definitely paid off. Each step I took, every rep I did, all were accounted for. It doesnt matter what you do wether it be going for a walk, playing a sport, or even taking the stairs rather than the elevator, little exercise is better then no exercise at all! As I wasn't feeling too well during my workout after pushing myself a little too much, I started dinner once I felt better.

I broke a 25hr fast with a stir fry of assorted ingredients from the week:
2 slices Kirkland bacon
88g white mushrooms
100g coleslaw veggies
119g avocado
69g cajun pork sausage
45g roma tomato
185g cooked chicken breast

Dinner came out to: 855 calories, 77g protein, 51g fat, 9g net carb (21g carb-12g fiber). Since my caloric total was low, I tried to bump it up with an impromptu snickerdoodle ricotta cream dessert (recipe to follow in another post) but only ended up eating half of it.

In the end my caloric total came to: 1134 calories, 85g protein, 78g fat, 12g net carbs (24g carbs-12g fiber). It's lower than I would have liked especially on leg day. I entertained the thought of having a protein bar but after dessert my stomach wasn't all too interested.

Meh...tomorrow is another day.

Had a very active day today and enjoyed every minute of it.
Lifting, boxing, walking...
Today something very interesting happened to me... A 7 year old kid asked me if I could 
help him catch a bus. 
I say: "yeah sure, where u going?"
Kid: To the restaurant where my mom works
I was very confused at this moment, I wasn't expecting this, I thought it was a joke... but then he told me: "Thank you, I normally don't do this but everytime I try to stop the bus the drivers think I'm playing because I am young"
My reaction in that moment was:😱😳
This is not a joke. This 7 year old kid (who's name was Pablo btw) is travelling by bus at 7 pm BY HIMSELF to see his mom at her work.
After I left him at the bus he told me: "I hope we see each other again" with an innocent smile in his face :'). Pablo really made my day. This made me realize how grateful I am to be in a place where I have everything I need, my both parents, my family, and the priviledge to be alive and enjoy small things like having one of the most meaningful conversations with such a little kid ❤. I truly believe that every now and then, God sends us reminders of how beautiful this life is, this time Pablo was the reminder 👦👐
