The 1more stands for their latest album “one more light” i miss chester and his beautiful voice and i’m amazed by the other band members and how well they seem to be processing this (even though i can never know for sure) i have cried over the death of chester and wish we could get such wonderful people like him, back here. Kefirle olan dostluğumuz uzun yıllara dayanır. 😀 Tabii ki başlangıç nedenim acaba bağırsaklarıma iyi gelir mi sorularının yanıtını bulmak içindi. 🔹O zamanlar probiyoriklerden bir haber ben tadına alışmaya ve sevmeye çalışmıştım. 🔹Gel zaman git zaman kefir ile olan bağımız o kadar güçlendi o kadar çok sevdim ki o zamandan bu yana her akşam sofrada yanı başımdaki yerini aldı. 🔹Sonra bir gün probiyotiklerin önemini, bağışıklık sisteminin bağırsaklarda olduğunu, faydalı bakteri dengesinin vücut için ne kadar kıymetli olduğunu öğrendim. 🔹Bu süre içerisinde canlı kefir taneciklerimle güzelce mayalama işlemini yaparak kefirlerimi tükettim. Taa ki inek sütünün bana dokunduğunun farkına varana kadar. 🔹Ardan bir süre geçtikten sonra keçi ürünleri kullanmaya başladım. İşte o aşamada bu sefer de keçi kefir yapmanın yollarını aradım. 🔹Kimi zamanlar hazır şişe kefirleri tükettim. Şimdilerde ise yine evde üretime geçtim. İnternetten aldığım @kefirdanem keçi kefir mayamı bir litre süt ile karıştırarak 22 saat mayalanmaya bıraktım ve mutlu sona ulaştım. 🔹Üzerine de evde yaptığım pancar turşusunun suyundan koydum. Food Matters Live 2017 - Seminar on the Microbiome - this was so popular, there were more people sitting on the floor than actually seated.. Reason is because the microbiome is so much more important than previously recognised with important benefits for IBS, sufferers, our immune system, allergenic response, gut-brain axis, weight management & lots  more! Kefir is the current nutrition buzz word. It’s a very old & traditional fermented food & very important in optimising on our microbiome. Kefir = bacteria + yeasts. 16 kefir grains added to milk, all have different functionalities & therefore variable physiological responses. Some taste better than others 😋. Interesting animal research in Cork with probiotics ⬇️ cholesterol, weight reduction & inflammation.  Lactobacillus rhamnosus - LGG appears to be important. Valio is a new probiotic about to launch in UK which contains LGG. I have no idea what Valio tastes like, but will certainly give it a go @valiofi. Great overview of the research supporting the FODMAP diet by Prof Whelan @ProWhelan. Very clear that changes in microbiome occur on the Low FODMAP diet which we must not ignore. One take home message: take a probiotic preferably including  a bifidobacterium when on the FODMAP diet. Having done the Symprove challenge recently @symprove was really pleased to learn more about the underlying research findings for this from Prof Gaisford. Do have a look at Ed Turners forthcoming blog on the FODMAP Diet  on our website @begoodtoyourgut.co.uk shortly. Also looking forward to Julie Thompson’s new FODMAP cookbook being released before Christmas @jules_gastroRd. The relationship between IBS and food is a complex one and an IBS diet plan works very well for some people, but others find that flare-ups can’t be linked back to a certain food.

Every day is a different type of pain/struggle and it doesn’t seem to get any better, especially when there isn’t a actual cure! 
I’m hoping once I begin my journey with a  dietitian we will be able to actually pin point what causes the exact pain for me. But for now I’m going to try and start it myself, so thought what’s the best way to keep a diary/blog of what I eat/find than on Instagram!
I hope to be able to start figuring out what causes the exact pain for me and I would also love maybe to even chat/meet some others that suffer also, as I don’t really have anyone around that understands 100% what this thing called IBS is.

Brad is sooo glad his brother & sister-in law “bugged” him about getting healthier💥💪🏼❤️ Brad’s  story: "I spent nearly 10 years Air Force. 4 of those years, I was on their "Fat Boy" program.  Heavily monitored.  Forced to #diet to lose weight or was kicked out.  For years, I struggled with this,barely getting by with my weigh in. 
I gave up military but was blessed with a civil service job doing the exact same thing I was doing in the Air Force.  It was great.  The problem now, civilians are not monitored and I let myself get to 242 pounds 😫

I felt #hopeless ..no way out, and my life had little meaning. 
I Stopped doing the things I loved. Playing softball, scuba diving, etc.  I was also on CPAP machine, #highbloodpressure meds, high #cholesterol meds.  Suffered from #plantarfasciitis and #irritablebowelsyndrome All at the age of 40.

Once I started this amazing lifestyle (with skepticism), I found the health problems changing a great deal.  I would say, within 30 days, I am in perfect health.  No more meds and NO MORE CPAP!!!!🙌 No #illnesses since then...and 60 pounds less weight!!! 16 of it in my first 8 days!🤩 My life has meaning! I feel better!  I am back to playing ball, scuba diving, and no longer worry about, am I going to make it to retirement.  I am so #THANKFUL that my brother and my sister in law BUGGED and shared their secret with me." #yourhealthisyourwealth

For this Transformation Tuesday, I thought I’d share these set of pics with y’all! I know I have posted some of these pics either recently or before but I wanted to show what Crohn’s has done to me over the years. As u can see the 2 pics on the left are of me at my worst. The top left was a pic of me during a really bad flare-up that would hospitalize me a week later. The top right pic is of me what I normally looked like. Both of the top pics are of me at 25 and 28 respectively. The bottom 2 pics are within a year apart. After 9 years of having an ileostomy I didn’t take care of myself health wise thanks to a little bit of depression I fell into 5 years ago caused by an incident that had happened at work. As the years passed I had put on 70lbs and I was at risk for other health factors. I felt it was impossible to not only get healthy but to lose weight as well. This past year was a not only a big challenge but a tough one as well. I put a lot of my heart and soul into doing what I thought was impossible and that was to get myself down to a healthy weight and get my health levels back down to normal. This past year I learned that NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE! This holiday season isn’t about restriction for myself or the women I work with. We’re focused on building healthy habits including compassion for our current physique while we work towards our goals. You don’t need to force yourself into a diet or break yourself down during the holidays. Day 14 - You know you have a chronic illness when.. The "messy chair" becomes a messy life.

This is another raw + difficult one for me to share. I am quite literally, sharing my dirty laundry! 😅 
Most of us have that "chair" You know the one I mean. The chair. Where the overflow goes right? Where you drape your clothes at the end of the day, that sometimes becomes a mini mountain that needs deassembling. If you don't have one now, you've had one. When you were a teenager, at Uni, or when you had flu that time + things got a bit messy. 
I have one, much to my shame. It isn't the chair that gives me problems, it is what it represents when it gets so bad, it overflows.

Believe it or not, I am not a messy person. I love cleanliness. Order. Knowing where everything is at. I've worked as a cleaner in multiple places + homes, to a very high standard. Particularly in the hospital where hygiene + cleanliness is critical, not optional.

Since being ill, one thing that has slipped away from me, is my ability to keep order + tidiness within my grasp. It's embarrassing + degrading. I love having people round to my home, hospitality, making my home open to others, is a huge part of my heart. So I force myself to keep areas "OK" for when people come. It's often a quick run (or rather wobble) around before someone comes but people don't see the unseen areas of chaos that I am struggling to keep a grip on.

This is probably one of the biggest things I struggle with. Why? Pride. The fear of judgment from others. I'm not a control freak 😂 but I like order OK. I like tidy. Clean. Organised. As my conditions continue to limit me, these gifts often elude me.

I have met some incredible people. Some very impressive people. Doctors. Sporty people. Parents. Hard workers. Who now have chronic illnesses like mine. To think we are often called 'lazy' by family or friends is so hurtful. It doesn't represent who we are at all. It is NOT the truth. 
On a course I did for M.E/CFS the importance of not worsening our conditions in an attempt to prove we were perfect, in keeping our homes perfect was said. When you have a chronic illness you must give yourself the grace to be imperfect. 💛

I have been honoured with an offer to begin a PhD. This will be an extension of my past research, investigating the gut microbiota (bacteria), hormones and other biological markers in mental health and irritable bowel syndrome. 
My amazing colleagues strongly recommended I start a science blog to allow friends and family to follow my journey, as well as provide the scientific community an outlet to learn about my research in a less regulated space. I very unsuccesfully attempted this throughout my honours year...

Part two: autoimmune disorder redefined. Please see part one so it makes more sense. Health is just flowing energy pattern, that’s it! And illness is not a flow anymore. Our bodies are much more symbolic to our truth than a biological physical entity. For example our hearts is where we give and receive love. But for many of us with autoimmune issues, our hearts have been very hurt. Until you heal and shed the pain from within your heart, you have no idea how beautiful your heart really is. Yeah, there’s diets and things to manage autoimmune disorder but nothing beats restoring your own love inside. When there is love within, there is no chronic illness my friends. Take a little rest from the medical definitions aside and return to your heart. 💕

Es fällt mir schwer auch über Rückschläge zu sprechen. Ich hatte letzte Woche Mittwoch und Donnerstag einen Rückfall. Der Suchtdruck kam am Mittwoch auf dem Rückweg von meinem ersten Klinik-Gespräch ganz plötzlich und massiv und ich habe dann abends nachgegeben, den Donnerstag habe ich dann direkt noch mitgenommen. Soweit so mies, aber am Freitag habe ich mich wieder gefangen. Gestern Abend kam dann wieder dieser Druck, allerdings ehr schleichend und ich hatte mich einigermaßen unter Kontrolle. Ich hatte geplant heute zum Training zu gehen und normal zu essen. Ich lag dann lange schlaflos im Bett und wechselte zwischen "Du ziehst den Tag morgen durch!" und "Scheiß drauf und gönn dir!" Naja, heute morgen  habe ich dann nachgegeben und mir "Stoff" besorgt.. Dazu muss ich sagen, dass ich in meinen bulimischen Schüben komplett anders esse als normal. Ich bin seit über drei Jahren, aus ethischen Gründen, Veganerin und das bleibt auch immer so, nur esse ich wenn ich weiß dass ich mich übergeben will halt nur Junkfood und betrinke mich nebenbei die ganze Zeit. Das kostet.. vor allem weil ich quasi dann zweimal einkaufen muss. Ich schäme mich immer noch dafür, dazu kommt die Angst meinem Körper irreversiblen Schaden zuzufügen. Am Wochenende, wo ich normal gegessen habe, hatte ich teilweise das Gefühl meine Eingeweide würden verbrennen. Trotzdem konnte ich mal wieder nicht wiederstehen. Naja, morgen ist ein neuer Tag und eins ist klar.. ICH GEBE MICH NICHT AUF!

I give you an advice my loves, if you can, meet someone on your city that has the same or similar problem as you. Talking to someone out of the social media that understands you is one of the best things that happened to me the last year. So if you can find someone, do it. 💪💪

✨ thought i’d make a post on here. since my sarahah is back in my bio i have gotten waves and waves of hate upon me. i don’t know why this happens. people are telling me i am faking, trying to convince me i am a hypochondriac, saying i want to be sick, and am always worrying, always negative and thinking every symptom i get is a new illness. thing is though, i have never lied on here, i have never selfdiagnosed, i have been in therapy for years and i think i would’ve been told if i were a hypochondriac, i want to get better which is on the top of my wishlist, i am not worrying always, sure i do worry because i have a body that doesn’t exactly function the way it should but i’m not thinking about it 24/7! I have other things to worry about. School, finding a job, searching for work experience, is playing with and walking my dog, friends and so on! there is so much more to my life that you don’t get to see! it’s not fair to judge me or anyone else like that! i have decided to keep my sarahah because i have nothing to hide and because i know i am not lying or faking and i will tell those anons who aren’t smart enough to just unfollow me in the first place! I know what i feel best, i know what i go through best, never judge someone based on this little snippet of life you get to see on instagram. thank you. ✨

This chemical, consistently found in the blood of people tested, is capable of mimicking natural estrogen in the human body, and is linked to symptoms like weight gain, obesity and insulin resistance and diabetes.

Action Step: 
1) Avoid canned foods whenever possible, in particular canned tomatoes, which have higher levels of BPA. (opt for jarred tomatoes instead)
2) If you have a pressure cooker buy beans and lentils dry and cook them in your pressure cooker. Like that you avoid any additives and it's easier to digest.

You adjust your work clothes, do a last grunt at yourself in the mirror before going into the world that is full of requests, questions or demands, most of which you'll likely feel unqualified to answer. You do your best. You get home in the evening, slump on the sofa, finally you can relax + just be yourself. 
When you have a chronic illness every day, every outing, every encounter feels like a performance, where as the curtain draws, you must try to function as normal as you can. You can feel vulnerable + exposed, so you develop a professional self. We all have parts of ourselves we reserve, that's natural! Normal even. But when you experience chronic pain or fatigue daily, you can often end up building a persona of strength to hide it. You don't want to be a downer or burden others. You don't want to be a negative nelly, bring others down or push people away with your pain, so it's easier at times to just say "I'm good" or "I'm fine" with your most convincing grin + tone, saving your sighs till the door has closed or the phone is put down.

I am a smiler, I laugh a lot + when I see people I often feel an instinctual switch within me that clicks my internal gear from utterly fatigued to smiling + enthusiastic within seconds. I don't really know how it happens + I definitely wouldn't say I am a fake person! I'm pretty open but it seems that I have learnt to hide my illnesses or the effect that they have on me, pretty well. Only a few people have seen me at my worst or when I am so fatigued that the mask slips. When I'm struggling I tend to live that at home rather than in the world.

A part of this also comes from society telling us we must "grin + bare it" "be positive" but as time goes on, I find myself being more honest about how I really am. When someone asks me how I am doing, I say the truth + use it as an opportunity to connect in an authentic way. We never know who we may be able to inspire when we get real. Aside from that, I owe myself + those who really care, that level integrity.💛

Ingredients for 2:
2 tbs garlic oil
1 tbs hoisin 
1 tbs oyster sauce 
1 tbs soy sauce 
1/2 carrot, finely diced 
1/2 capsicum, finely diced 
1/8 cup peas 
2 eggs
Greens of spring onions 
2 cups of cooked rice .

Method:
1. Add half of the oil to a frying pan and heat on medium and scramble the eggs with a wooden spoon. Once scrambled remove from pan
2. Add the rest of the oil and stir fry the vegetables for 5 minutes or until they are slightly soft
3. Add oyster sauce and hoisin sauce to the vegetables and continue to cook 
4. Move vegetables to one side in the frying pan and add cooked rice to the other side. Fry the rice and stir with a wooden spoon
5. Add the soy sauce to the rice and stir it all together with the egg
6. Serve with the spring onions

So, here’s what i do. Give it a try!

As soon as i get up i drink about 12oz of room temp water

Next, I drink my elixir 🤗 -About 4/6oz of warm water
-Juice of 1/2 lemon
-2Tbsp ACV
-2/3 drops of honey -1 big dash of cinnamon
-1 big dash of cayenne

I drink it down in about 4 gulps. Then I get on with my day. I’ll tell you, as a person with #irritablebowelsyndrome I have noticed a big difference since adding this to my daily morning routine. #happiness
