If you’re struggling with losing weight, one of the easiest ways of cutting out calories is to stop consuming liquid calories.
Fruit juices in general are nothing but pure sugar. Whole fruits on the other hand have micronutrients and Fiber.
Fiber also plays a big role in hunger, satiety, digestive health, lowering cholesterol and controlling blood sugar.
1 cup of apple cider/juice and 1 large apple have the same calories but the whole fruit is superior in every way.
It’s very easy to drink 3 cups of juice but it’s not so easy to eat 3 large apples for the same calories.
Happy Friday, everyone! For some fun weekend reading, check out our two catalogues - now online! History of Science and Technology:

It’s crazy important to me to give credit to all the AMAZING local staff I’m working with in Uganda. So I wrote a blog post about a few of my favorites (link in bio).
This is Isaac Newton (yes, that’s his real name!). He’s the newest Clinical Officer at the Pagirinya Health Center - that’s the Ugandan equivalent of a Physician’s Assistant, and since there aren’t many docs available here, they run the health centers. He’s this happy every time I see him, even though he has patients lining up literally 24/7 ❤️ More of my favorites on the blog!
As Isaac Newton once said, sometimes in life “we build too many walls and not enough bridges”. In general we tend to agree with Mr. Newton, however he probably never hiked the West Coast Trail.
Join us next summer to hike for 7 days & 6 nights in a place with no walls and 108 bridges.

We promised you rockets (and some science!).....here you go!! #scienceweek
Today we look at the third of Newton's laws of motion. "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction". Alternatively, you may have heard the law stated as "If A exerts a force on B, then B exerts an equal and opposite force upon A". Whichever way you learned the law.....here is an FZ 2.75inch Folding Fin Rocket to display the law in all its beauty!
The rocket is contained in the underwing LAU7A Rocket Pod. Once electrically activated, the rocket igniter fires and ignites the chemical propellant. This transfers chemical energy to heat energy. The propellant pushes rearward as it expands due to the heat (that's Charles' Law!). This rearward "push" on the air particles BEHIND the rocket is where Newton's 3rd Law kicks in: Because the propellant pushes rearward on the air, then Newton said the air pushes FORWARD on the rocket! This propels the rocket towards the target. (Note - The heat energy has now been transferred to kinetic energy). Isaac Newton.....you genius!!! #scienceweek2017#joinourteam#defendprotectsupport#isaacnewton
