Tuesday: there's nothing so blissful as waking up on holiday after 11 hours of sleep. All that sea air yesterday clearly tired us all out. But the discovery of QVC and a relaxed breakfast gave the children all the energy needed for an hour in the pool and some time in the soft play area next door.
I think that they were trying to hold off our plans for the day, first of which was a trip to Brading Roman Villa. DH was a Classics Scholar so is a bit of a geek when it comes to Roman-alia but we were all impressed with the set up. It is a genuinely impressive site with beautiful mosaics, but also has an excellent selection of interactive exhibits and activities that really engaged the kuds so we were there for some time. Fortunately the museum also has a good restaurant so we were able to top up our energy levels before we visited Dinosaur Isle, which was chock-full of fossils and facts and things to learn about dinosaurs. The kids' worksheet was a bit dry but we got a lot of amusement from the hands-on activities, including touching dinosaur poo.
Afterwards there was a walk on the beach, and some park life before poor Dimples gave herself a thick lip and we retreated home. This evening we gave the evening Ents at the holiday park a whirl, not to mention more park time- the one on site is both canopied and lit, so itis open all hours!
About to put together this bad boy! My new toy, a proper running buggy from @bugaboostrollers!
I'm finding it so hard to fit fitness in to life at the moment with three little ones, and I'm missing it. So I've taken the two days a week that I only have one baby in the pushchair and started running with the four year old to school and then running home. It's working a treat and means that's two runs a week at least 👍🏻💪🏻🙌🏻 So I've treated myself to this! Ordered yesterday from @bournemouthbabycentre and delivered in super quick time today. Thank you!
Moody landscape for moody days. Picture taken during hiking weekend on Isle of Wight on first weekend of september. I strongly hope the footage i took there would be processed into video soon (realistically speaking - this year would be nice 😂)
What spots in UK would you recommend for autumn hiking?
