After a sweet little break welcoming baby Jubilee into the world, I'm happy to be getting back into my design groove. Well, as much groove is possible with five littles swarming about. Remembering that everything we have is a gift from our Father in heaven! (Oh! And excited to be collaborating with my crazy talented sis @bwnesmith and her crazy watercolor skills) Link in bio!
My first Mother's Day 🌸 🌸🌸
A year ago I never would have thought that I'd be celebrating this year. Many people know our story and many don't, but it's one of a deep faithfulness in God's perfect timing and I hope it can encourage others. In 2015 we tried to start a family and it didn't work. We decided to not stress and not to try to plan, but to keep living our normal wonderful life and leave the door open for God to work, however that may look. A year later I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, was told we probably wouldn't be able to conceive naturally and that we should start discussing our options for infertility treatment. Not ready to intervene yet, we decided to wait and continue to trust God's timing and plan. I went back to the doctor 5 weeks later and found out that I was 8 weeks pregnant. Based on what my body was doing and not doing, my doctor could not explain it. Lots of mixed emotions took place those first few weeks, but I had to have faith that even though I didn't feel ready, God thought I was.
Fast forward 6 months and our Andi girl is here a month early. Again I wasn't ready. Again I felt so many mixed emotions, but I rest completely in the Lord and fully believe that the story He has written for us is so much greater than anything we could have written for ourselves. Andi is the biggest surprise of our life- our greatest testimony- and we give all glory to God! #mothersday2017#james1v17
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father..." James 1:17. "Give thanks to the Lord , for he is good; his love endures forever" Psalm 107:1.
There are times when it seems as if God is so far away; distant or even disconnected from us, our everyday lives and daily goings on. It becomes easy to dwell on the negatives or on what we don't have. It becomes easy to disregard Him and to try and take control back into our own hands.
But how often do we take a good look around us at all the good things He has already blessed us with? How often are we truly thankful? A hot cup of tea on a cold night. Books to read and get lost in. A comfy bed to sleep in. Good catchups with dear friends. A job that earns us money. The sound of pouring rain on the roof. Ears to hear soul-stirring music and the voices of our loved ones. Eyes to see the beauty of nature... The list could go on and on, and is unique for each of us.
When God feels far away, just stop and see all that He has lovingly given you and continues to give. And then give thanks! Closeness with Him begins with an open and grateful heart. ❤

JAN 07 | Life will never stop being full of unexpected surprises and changes.. But how amazing is it to know that we have a God who does not change despite our changing world? #james1v17#madewithlovebybeca
The last #sunset of 2016. No reflecting tonight of what has been, just taking in the moment and looking forward to the new gifts 2017 will bring. #breathe
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. #james1v17
