Have you ever cooked with Myoga? More commonly known in english as Japanese ginger or myoga ginger, these little gems have layers just like an onion. Despite their name, myoga taste more like lighter onions or shallots, rather than ginger. Chef Yoshimi says they are great in tempura, pickled or even sliced thinly as garnish.
