Throwback photo from 8yrs ago when I thought I was “living” the life. Single, working 13hrs a day, shopping like crazy, nice apartment inside Tokyo, drinking/partying my ass off every night, sleeping in til 11am, not a care in the world. Do I miss it? Yes, parts of it but I wouldn’t trade it for what I have now. 👨👩👧👦🐶 We may not have it all together but together we have it all.
📍K O B E - After a day of strolling around Arashiyama and central Kyoto, I decided to eat dinner in Kobe and have another long walk. 😅👣 I must say that I have to go back to this city, my time that weekend was very limited. 🇯🇵
📍#天龍寺 Tenryūji is the most important temple in Arashiyama's district. It is also a UNESCO world heritage site, and it ranked first as one of the greatest zen temples. 🏯🇯🇵 Seeing its garden during spring, it is lovely. 🌸
📍K Y O T O ~ This city will always have a special place in my heart. There are lots of relaxing places to see, with a strong and vivid culture. It's tradition that seems to be very alive and well maintained... 👏🏻🇯🇵
One time For the Culture. Kimonos and Hoops💁🏽 There is no feeling that compares to the love shown at my mini "Kimono ceremony" this weekend. These women gifted me this vintage Kimono, took their time to dress me in it, and performed a traditional tea ceremony for me to participate in after. The love felt was unmeasurable. Some things really just can't be bought. So again... one time for the culture 😉🎎 #JapanLiving#AfrosandKimonos#BlackGirlsTravel#Family
📮Aside from taking pictures, writing notes on my journal, I always send postcard addressed to myself. It's like a letter to yourself wherein you say your feelings and thoughts on some of your life's current events. And someday, I can reread it and laugh at my mistakes. But this certain postcard will always be memorable, WHY? Because I did not received it. I just forgot to put my address, Hahaha! I put my heart to it while writing, only to find out later that night, that it has no address on it. 🤦🏻♀️👏🏻
During the start of Spring this year, I came back to my favorite city - Kyoto. It's the city where I can live without hesitation. I always take the night bus going here, and upon arriving, I think it's best to grab a good coffee. ☕️
