With the release of #rogueone we want to remember someone who played a minor role in the rebellion #jektonoporkins The Porkmeister died in the battle of Yavin when an electrical issue took out his X-Wing Fighter. May the Force be with you oh corpulent one.
Jek Tono Porkins was a champion T-16 skyhopper pilot from the Bestine system. When the Empire decided to make Bestine the site of a new base, Porkins and the rest of the planet’s population were forced to leave the planet, and wander the galaxy without a home. The Rebel Alliance offered their assistance, and Porkins jumped at the chance to strike back at the Empire, and liberate his planet. He quickly reached the rank of lieutenant while training with the Tierfon Yellow Aces. When word of the Death Star spread across the Rebellion, the Red Squadron requested new pilots, and Porkins was transferred to Yavin IV. There he met Biggs Darklighter and Wedge Antilles. Together, they went undercover to secure badly needed astromech droids for combat. Porkins flew as Red Six in the Battle of Yavin. As he flew cover for Biggs, debris hit his X-wing, causing his instruments to malfunction. Consequently, the ship became sluggish, and became an easy target for the Death Star’s turbolasers. A holographic memorial of his image was created after the battle. He was considered by Wedge and Luke Skywalker to be an original member of Rogue Squadron, and Wedge made sure all new Rogue Squadron pilots knew they had large flightsuits to fill. #starwarsessentials#starwars#jektonoporkins#t16#skyhopper#bestine#empire#rebellion#redsquadron#yavin#deathstar#lukeskywalker#tierfonyellowaces#jekporkins#porkins
