I just watched Mother, I loved it and I'm pretty traumatized lol. It's quite a masterpiece! I'm still crying and I was literally shaking in the theatre 😂The suspense in it is crazy I just wanted to see what came next and after that. My eyes were glued to the screen. I've never seen anything like this before and its very creative. It went from normal to insane real quick. Jen's performance in it was phenomenal, it all felt so real like I can feel her emotions inside of me. I had a rush of emotions of confusion, shock and curiosity etc (I don't want to spoil) I don't know how to explain the movie I'm speechless I extremely recommend it. Now I understand why she had trouble watching this movie, I said to my friend what have we watched. Mother is certainly one of a kind I love it ❤
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
DON'T READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WANT THE FILM SPOILED
Lawrence plays 'Mother,' while Javier Bardem plays her husband called 'Him.'
The two live in a beautiful house that Mother has refurbished from top to bottom with great care, while Him, a poet, struggles to write again.
One day a devoted fan (Ed Harris) arrives on their doorstep, bringing people in droves and chaos ensues from there.
So, the whole allegory for the film is Lawrence isn't just some woman, she's Mother Earth, Mother Nature, or Gaia and Bardem's 'Him' is meant to be God, yes THE God.
While the house, a living being itself is meant to be Earth, Ed Harris's charater and Michelle Pfeiffer's character are meant to be Adam and Eve.
The first people on earth, who then bring their two sons played by Brian and Domhnall Gleeson, who represent Cain and Abel.
Him embraces more and more worshippers who flock to the house to stay and worship him as humanity fills the house, destroying it bit my bit.
Just as humans have destroyed the earth with pollution and for their own needs and wants.
The history of the world, told mostly through violent wars and death, unfolds within the house, where his worshipers grow more and more feverish in a reflection of religious conflict and different belief systems.
Mother then finds herself pregnant, until she is forcefully made to give birth and watch as her baby is taken away, ripped apart and eaten by his worshipers.
Mother then sets the house (ie. World) on fire, showing that she must end her creation due to their savageness.
She along with everyone else burns in the house.
This film shows how careless we can be when we are given something for free. Harmful and reckless.
We destroy everything and then we destroy ourselves.
You can follow her she is posting new things! 💕
She can't be real 👑
