Before I started pilates, I honestly never thought about my breath once. I knew I had to breathe to live, but that was about it.
I have found that through a mind/body movement practice (yoga, pilates, etc) one inadvertently connects deeper to one's own body through breathing practice alone. It's truly incredible that I can have a crazy day at work and then feel like a new person after a pilates session. Mind body movement classes are such a gift! Breath is a gift, because it is life!

Pilates ist mir zum ersten Mal in meiner Tanzausbildung begegnet und ich habe diese Methode wirklich zu schätzen und lieben gelernt. Ich bin immer noch auf dem Weg und diese Methode ist so facettenreich und vielfältig, -das begeistert mich! Es bringt mir Spaß, sich kreative Stundenbilder und Sequenzen auszudenken. Meinen tänzerisch Hintergrund kann ich allerdings nicht leugnen und ich lasse ihn gerne mit einfließen. Ich glaube Joe hätte es in Ordnung gefunden, schließlich hat er selbst mit vielen Tänzern gearbeitet 😜 .

That's great way to start off on the right foot or, a great way to let go of a sub par day. That's what's great about evening classes, too. Try it out tonight at 5 and 6PM
Nicole Briggs of @strongbodypilates in Toluca Lake, CA welcomed me into her lovely studio. After some conversation regarding my state of health we worked on the Reformer going through Joe's and Jay's classical order that I have been working on at @vintagepilates (where coincidentally Nicole trains). What impressed me about Nicole's coaching: working on keeping my shoulders OPEN and away from my ears (LOL). Also working on my Teaser - that needs so much work. We talked about breathing and sitting upright on the short box from the lower ribs building up to the neck and head. A fab exhausting workout finishing on the Trap Table. It's super flattering when clients are amazed with my Pilates practice. Whether it's a video I post, or a move we workshop in class and I demonstrate, it's nice when the people I care about are impressed! (I usually say, "Yea, that's why they pay me the big bucks 💰") But the reality is every single client is capable of beautiful movement. I eat, sleep, drink, and daydream Pilates all day every day. And I still have a lot of work to do to get where I want to be. Everybody does. Anybody can be a #PilatesBody . For real.
