"Don't tell yourself that the way you feel is an indication you should stop. The way you feel now is the way anyone would feel who was so deeply committed to life. It's the way anyone would feel who had committed to climbing that mountain." - Melody Beattie 'Journey to the Heart'
Johnston Canyon ice walk on our last full day here. No flowery description can describe the beauty we experienced today, and nothing man can build can compare to the perfected beauty and inspiration that is Nature. The short version of why this glacial river water appears blue is from finely ground glacial rock flour that is formed when heavy glaciers slowly creep downhill over a long time and crush everything under its weight. The rock dust is then suspended in the water and is rich in limestone and other rocks. This suspension, along with the way the light is absorbed, reflected, and scattered (Tyndall Effect) is why this water is so blue. Canada, you are truly a sight to behold. 🌲❄️🇨🇦#johnstoncanyon#explorealberta#explorebanff#canada#waterfalls#naturewalk#icewalk#choosemountains#canadarockies
