Super fun night with one of my best pals @lynnwhipple & other fun art pals at Lynn's book signing party. Lynn is a fantastic artist and she points her Compass towards JOY every chance she gets! 🙌🏼 which is one reason why I adore her 💕. Her new book, Expressive Flower Painting is based on her Big Bold Blooms painting class (avail via @carlasonheim website) 🌸🌻💚 and her new course, called Joy Stuff, the Art of Noticing just started online last week, you can find it through Carla's website too. If you've ever wondered if you can paint, draw, make art, Lynn is hands-down one of the best, the most fun, the most encouraging and wonderful teachers you'll be glad you met, online or in person. 🦋She is the reason I have been making art, and finding such joy in doing so. 💖 Thank you Lynn, for helping me point my compass towards joy, and thank you for being such a great teacher & friend! I love you and appreciate you! ✨💟✨🌻🦋🌿🌸🌼💖

A friend going through a difficult time recently wondered how I seem to navigate life with such faith and trust in its unfolding and a deep sense of my own resilience. I know I've been willing to dig deep and work hard when that's what I'm called to do and, like everyone else, I've been through some tough times (sometimes tough years) that could have left me more closed and cynical, mistrusting and wary. And yet, somehow I always return to joy. It's what I trust, in my body, in my heart, to steer me forward, to make big decisions, to take a risk, to step into the spaces that make me feel alive. I orient my life, I told her, in response to the joy I feel in a given moment. It roots me to my truth, opens my life to beautiful adventures and keeps me believing that whatever heartache and challenge may come, the light will always break through.
