Ok so I didn’t even think I’d be able to come to on of my dearest friends wedding because I was so sick, but thank the good Lord I was able to! And I’m in my favorite place with sunshine (ok today it’s raining harder than ever yolo), humidity (yes I’m obsessed with humidity), THE OCEAN, and some of the best people EVER! It made this trip even more special and I’ve even felt good! Wow yay!! But seriously who loves the ocean?!
We can't get enough of the desert plants. They're so beautiful and unique, as if they came out of a Dr. Seuss book. This one is called an ocotillo, and often looks like a collection of dead sticks, but after a rainfall will become very green with little leaves. They will also blossom bright red flowers in spring and summer, mainly after rain. Another fun fact...this tree is also called desert coral. No wonder we love it. 😁🌵🌊💙
I was looking through photos on Facebook, going over some of the images I have posted over the past few years. These are some of the ones that stuck out to me for one reason of another. I realized I have an affinity for flash lighting, as every single one of these was shot using either @paulcbuffinc #alienbees , #digibees , or #einsteins , and from that I realized how versatile solid, reliable gear can be if you know how to use it. One of the things I really like about Paul C. Buff lights is that they are a system that kind of grows with you. I actually like everything about The whole concept that Paul C Buff operates under. Starting out and investing in studio lights can be an intimidating thing for fledgling photographers. The Alien Bees/ Digi Bees' price point ironically takes the "sting" out, while inspiring confidence with its user friendliness, and quality output. I prefer to simplify things and stick with certain brands, so I can get super familiar with the products, to the point that they become an extension of myself. I have never felt the need to move from the Paul C Buff line up. From Alien Bees to Einsteins, I'm pretty confident I am covered. I realize this can all sound a bit patronizing, but when I look back, In recent years I have moved on to different brands from just about every area of gear because of undeniable deficiencies. Paul C Buff is the only gear that has stuck around from the beginning till now. So one must give credit, where credit is due.
Coming home..... We just returned home from a trip for my daughter’s birthday that can be summed up in one word: FUN. I love to have fun and I truly believe that fun (however you define that) is a key piece to an awesome life. I try to have fun every day anyway...but this trip was nonstop fun. We cruised, DANCED - A LOT - met some great people... spent a few days at Disney... and when I say “days”, I mean 7 am until 11pm nonstop... riding every ride possible... playing with bubbles, laughing... and just being joy-FULL. So many awesome experiences that added new perspective to my journey... Then... returning home to peace, tropical sunsets, calming sounds of the waves, and beloved Kaua’i. I am grateful that I created a life where my “real life” is a tropical vacation and my vacations are super busy lol 😂
I’m currently writing all ✍🏻 about it on the blog so check back later.
Life is too short not to smile everyday! That's something I'm really trying to get better at. I'm the kind of person that tends to let worry and anxiety get the best of me, even living in paradise life isn't perfect, but if there's anything that living in paradise is teaching me, it's that I need to let go of these trivial everyday worries and enjoy every second of this beautiful life I'm living! So let's all start this week off with positive minds, a big smile on our faces, and love in our hearts! ❤️ Happy Monday!
Enjoy the little things in life, because one day you will look back, and realize those were the big things. This is why I love Kauai so much. I tend to move fast, talk fast, and I’m always learning new things. This island has a magical way of slowing you down, so you can get grounded and live moment to moment.
Enjoy the little things.
Round II of Napali coast a success. We got dumped on initially but the rest of the trip was filled with sunshine, piggies, broken toes, giraffes and raccoons and some serious spike ball, and no one died @goyetter @brittanyrvzoo @rankieb @nick_hwite @andrewthemaher323 #activeliving#kauailife#luckywelivehawaii#napalicoast
