Dessert was incredible! I made a Keto Strawberry Pretzel Salad. The sweet & salty bottom crust was made with chopped pecans instead of pretzels. It was a hit, even with my pickiest eater. My hubby had two helpings. I also made a Keto Pumpkin Pie Custard and homemade Whip Cream. Both desserts were sweetened with either Monk Fruit or Swerve. They were refreshing and light, which was great after having a hearty meal earlier today.
😍 Trader Joes never fails me!
Who else is always feeling immense love for those stores?! This is my grocery haul for "our part" of Thanksgiving ~ (And of course the @dryfarmwines from a few posts ago!) I'm SOOO looking forward to a couple of days with our 3 incredibly cool boys AND my folks!
Thank you for always exceeding my expectations @traderjoes ❤ • •
So what is your plan for Thanksgiving? Is your plan to have a cheat day or keep it Keto? (No judgment)
I plan on making rolls, mashed potatoes & gravy for my non Keto peeps. However since I’m hosting and preparing the entire meal I control the temptations on the dinner table. I’m roasting two Turkey Breasts, Green Beans and Bacon, attempting my first Keto Stuffing, Garden Salad, Deviled Eggs, Pickles, Olives, for dessert I’m making a Keto Strawberry Pecan Salad (mock Strawberry Pretzel Salad) and Pumpkin Pie Custard (no crust) and homemade Whip Cream. I’m keeping it simple. Last year I gave myself grace and enjoyed small portions of a few non Keto side dishes, as I was going through severe emotional stress with my Dad’s diagnoses of Cancer and he only had a few weeks to live. This year my plan is to stick to Keto only foods. I will have plenty of keto foods to satiate me and keep me on track towards my goals.
