R2D8...I missed breakfast...so here’s brunch! The Roasted Beet, Orange & Avocado Salad is probably one of my most favorite recipes from the #whole30 book. Use ready to go beets from @costco and it really is a snap to make.
Reposting for accountability and motivation. In December 2016, finishing the 2017 Golden Gate Half was my main objective. This year, my goal is simply to build strength; not only my body, but my mind. And after a couple more 10ks and halves under my belt, by this time next year, I want a full marathon... New views, faster times, better me! #KeepinOn#JourneyToFindMyself#NoStopping#sofigoldengatehalf2017
So I got this amazing lady a card and then fricken lost it in the most Janelle fashion ever.
I wanted to thank @tinaraketti for who I am today. Before I met her, #makeup for me was a necessity and not a #passion . Bosses were just a #boss and not a #leader or a #friend
In September of 2012, I started working as a #cosmetician at #Shoppers in #Duncan . Tina was the #cosmeticsmanager and instantly, we hit it off. She showed me that #foundation was more than just something to hide bruises, scars and acne; it was something that you could use to #enhance your #naturalbeauty , which until I met her, I thought I had none. Work became fun and not just a job and she inspired me to help other people feel confident in who they are. I started out as a small, meak little thing, afraid to joke, open up and speak my mind and blossomed into a smart-mouthed, spunky woman who nobody can get to shut up- out in public. Because of this #wonderwoman , I grew in the workplace, gained the confidence to come into myself and she's the one who inspired me and started my career as a #MakeupArtist .
She has taught me to #keepon#keepinon and stay strong. She has taught me that a job can be #fun as well as #serious . It's Tina who I owe my #success in the #workforce to and I always thank whoever the heck is up there for bringing her into my life. If ever anyone has the pleasure of working with her, I hope that they realise how lucky they are.
So #MerryChristmas everyone, but especially Merry Christmas to Tina, who deserves every happiness on this Earth. #Thankyou , you amazing woman.
My lawyer meeting went well! My disability hearing could still take a very long time but she seemed much more confident in winning after talking to my last lawyer so that was really encouraging. (And with portraits like this in the lobby, you know they're good. 🤣)
The last several days I really been putting my priorities into perspective. It's harder than I thought it would be. The last several months I've been sleeping until eight I'm getting up and going straight to work. This morning I got up at 6:45 went downstairs and clean the kitchen put dinner in the crockpot, and did some other things around the house that needed to be done. It's now 1015 I'm just getting on the treadmill for my 20 minute walk. I haven't had a shower or started working for the day. My mom got real sick last night so I have to go and give her a bath tonight when I get off work. Not sure what time I'll get home and then I want to do it again tomorrow. Get up straight in the house, walk on the treadmill, shower and go to work. I don't even have kids! But it's really important to me that I stay focused on what's really important to me deep down and the only way to do that is making myself be consistent and putting what's important first. My devotional for this morning is titled"Is it time to let Go?". "Blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it" ~ Luke 11:28
