Today my daughter (and son who works at the camp) went to Kenya! Kenyan collage art of villagers, Kenyan song and dance and delicious curry at the Art and Food Around the World camp with @deenaraphael and @turniptheheatcooking. Love it!
So my entire platform is about a few very clear things:
1. #Freedom . But not just this shallow level of freedom that's really just bondage pretending to be free but really really being the most #authentic version of yourself. That's is freedom. And that is what I'm about. That #journey and that #actualization .
2. #BlackityBlackness . And everything that comes along with that. Truth. #Love . #Power . #Elevation . #Family . All of it. I'm here for it literally and figuratively... HERE for the #Blackness and all it's splendor.
3. #Women . Duh! This is clearly my passion. Creating programs, content, products, #curriculum , conversations, projects, initiatives for the #upliftment and #advancement of #women .
- All of these things combined makes me very committed to the uplifting and empowering of black women towards #freedom things on a daily basis. (Yes my message could reach and does reach other people but know that my #1 mission is black women being free. When black women are free everrrrry body else is free.) This is my truth as a #womanist and this is my truth as a lived reality! Black women are daily keeping this world afloat! || These #WhatWouldErykahBadu bodysuits are a part of my contribution to the messaging of black women's empowerment because I see @erykahbadu as a free girl freeing the rest of us through her authenticity. But also because a percentage of each one of these body suits being sold is going towards the tuition o thigh school aged #girls in #Nyahururu , #Kenya (ask me how you can connect and serve this school I'm working with). Soon we will be connecting with an amazing school in the metro Atlanta area to to more for the girls there... but in the meantime visit www.thefreepeopleproject.com to preorder your bodysuit today. || #TheFreePeopleProject#GetFree Be who you're supposed to be! #ErykahBadu

#RepostSave @thephotosociety with @repostsaveapp ・・・ Photo by @amivitale. Pokot, standing outside the enclosures at Reteti Elephant Sanctuary (@r.e.s.c.u.e), is under the care of wildlife keepers from the local community. With care and luck, in a few years he’ll be weaned and released to live among the wild herds of northern Kenya. Reteti is part of the Samburu-owned Namunyak Community Conservancy. The first-ever community-run elephant sanctuary in Northern Kenya, the people here truly understand how important elephants are to their landscape. Their goal is to rescue, rehabilitate and reintroduce orphaned or abandoned elephant calfs into the wild. In a world of seven billion, it is the people closest to the land who hold the key to saving what is left.

Planning an African safari? Take supplies for the local projects (link in bio) supported by @cottars1920scamp in #Kenya and the trip you take will go much farther than the miles you travel. #GivingBack#Africa#Philanthropy#Safari
What's your favorite animal? The cheetah is mine, and seeing one on the hunt is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. Here's an image I captured just 5 days ago while exploring the Masai Mara in Kenya.
