Halloumi skewers - one of the many meals out this week, as we had our International HR Meetup for 3 days, and I no longer have real pots/pans/plates/cutlery in the flat. Pretty much the only keto thing I've been able to eat all week! Can't wait to be reunited with all my stuff and get properly back into keto - not gonna lie, I've felt pretty shitty this week with all the carby food I've had!! Can't wait to be cooking my own meals again!

“Did i chest today?”
The magic 8 ball always knows. (Lol, i have this in my classroom and my kiddos are obsessed with it.) today was my first CARB OVERLOAD since starting. Every year our amazing cooks make a Thanksgiving dinner for lunch - and I’m talking the works: Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green beans, pumpkin pie... i started this keto journey on October 30. I told myself on that day that my two cheat days would be today for the Turkey lunch and on Thanksgiving. So.... i ate it all today at lunch. And how do i feel now?!! TIRED, BLOATED, GINORMOUS, SLEEPY, GUILTY!!!! All for maybe 10 minutes of eating. 🙁 UGH. So I’m assuming I’m kicked out of Ketosis and have to go through the keto flu again?! Any suggestions or help is appreciated.
Keto FAIL 👎🏼 One of my favorite holiday drinks from @starbucks is the holiday spice flat white. Yesterday I asked the barista what was in it (my mistake) She proceeded to tell me some spices blended in with the Christmas blend espresso coffee & steamed milk. So I thought 🤔 I could sub the milk for heavy cream & be ok. I DRANK A VENTI!!! When I got home I decided to Google the ingredients 😵
Holiday Spice Blend [Cane Sugar, Cinnamon, Rice Concentrate, Citric Acid, Ginger, Natural Flavor, Nutmeg, Clove]. Do you see that 1st ingredient in the so called “SPICES”🤬🤬🤬 Let this be a lesson learned. Do your own research & not make the mistake I made by taking someone’s word for it. My stomach feels so sick still this morning from that sugar. 🤢
Normally I️ try to post the positives about my vsg journey but I️ know I️ must be real too. Today I️ struggled. I️ definitely ate more than I️ usually do and definitely ate the wrong things. I️ know better and yet I chose to do it anyways. I️ can dwell upon and beat myself up, likely triggering worse behavior when it comes to my eating or learn from it. Now I️ know there are still some things I cannot eat without eating too much of it (enlightened ice cream bars and TJs Maple cookies). There are some things that are rough in my life right now and I thought I️ “deserved” a little treat. Well, that’s the thinking that got me to obesity. So no more. I’m not going to berate myself but I️ also@going to take responsibility for my choices and choose to do my best to prevent similar situations from occurring. Life is always going to have some type of stress and the only thing I️ can control is my response to that stress. My response is to love myself enough to not turn to hurtful patterns. Tomorrow is a new day and start. So keto breakfast already planned and keto meals ready to be prepped as well. Burger King major failed me tonight. No sauce at all on my Whopper Jr. It was my first real keto fail that I didn't even eat at all. I should have gotten bacon and cheese added... was banking on mayonaise to save it. #ketofail

Waiting for my coffee to get done. Not feeling so hot today. Last night we ended up eating at a friends house. We have lasagna sale and bread. I didn’t want to be rude and not eat. Ugghhhh I got screwed lol. So yesterday was a longtime friends birthday and initially we weren't doing anything till later in the day so he could do dinner and a movie with his family buuuut he really wanted me to come along so like 1hr before we had to be out the door I got ready really fast and didn't get a chance to eat anything. We went and saw murder on the orient express, off topic but I actually really liked it I didn't think it was going to be my thing at all but I really liked it! During the movie I was having a little popcorn and figured I'd just be really careful carb wise the rest of the day no big deal! So we went to eat dinner after the movie, at some teriyaki place and I was under the impression I'd be able to select my own food but turns out my friends mom just ordered everyone(like 7 people) the same thing.... a none diet sprite and a teriyaki chicken &rice dish with a little cabbage salad. Craaaappp😭😭😭 my friend tried to say something because he knew I wouldn't normally eat anything like that and his mom started to apologise and I felt like I was THAT person and I was like "nooooononono it's totally fine!!" And I was being treated to free dinner and his family had also paid for the movie tickets so I felt really really guilty so I ate the food and I mean at least it was pretty good food but craaaap😭 my friend even drank my sprite for me and got me water because he knew i couldn't drink sprite💝 I only at a little of the rice but the sauce on the chicken was so sweet I'm sure it had allot of carbs☠️ so that's a bummer then I felt sorry for myself later that night and fell down the rabbit hole and had a 3 musketeers bar🤦🏻♀️😓 so that sucked! The candy was totally on me but at least I know the first thing wasn't really my fault. I really didn't want to be rude since I was being completely paid for! So ya.... gotta start all over again my boyfriend thinks I should just eat carbs for one day then go back to keto, I did that once successfully, back in august when I screwed up, but idk🤷🏻♀️ what do you guys think?
My daughter is a type 1 diabetic... We had an appointment today with her endocrinologist who decides to spend most of the time telling me how bad it was for me to be on a keto diet and in ketosis... BIG fail today at Starbucks. I ordered an grande iced coffee, no classic w/ two pumps of mocha (they don't carry sugar free) and hwc. Didn't notice till I was half way done in class that the barista took it upon herself to make it a reg iced mocha 😤😓. Gonna try to go carb free the rest of the day. Has this happened to anyone? #ketofail heated up the rest of my chicken fajita mix... I️ was going to eat it on a coconut wrap. Tried heating the wrap up in avocado oil. Turned around to cut up my avocado and it was burnt 🙈 I hate to let it go to waste so i crunched it up and put it in the bowl with the fajita mix! THIS was my breakfast this morning! Which turned into my first #KetoFail I read that fruits are VERY high in carbs, but berries were ok. So I thought I would be golden with this breaky. Unfortunately I was wrong, I spent the rest of my day trying to balance everything out. In future, I will go with a smaller portion of berries! 🤔 #LessonLearned
Well these looked good, smelled good, tasted gross!!! Like it was all globby (is that a word?) chicken fat and I couldn’t even eat 2 😖. The hubby ate 4 but told me not to buy them again lol. This is my "I ate all the carbs" face. Just came back from a women's church conference where I totally lost control of myself and ate a wrap, potato chips, and even a giant chocolate chip cookie. I mean, it isn't often that I get served all those gluten free options! I think I'm just gonna fast for the next week 😂. Not too happy but I'm not gonna be too hard on myself either. One time major blow. I'll be back at keto tomorrow. I mean, tonight!
I didn't know that regular tomato sauce had so much sugar in it!!!! Dang. My spaghetti squash was way too sweet so I scraped off as much as I could and ate it along with my pork chop.
I had a nice salad though of baby spring greens, cucumber, olives, avocado oil and a splash of ACV, for a keto win! 😂
Really interesting to see how quickly your tastebuds change though. I've been trying to stay off sugar since I started almost a month ago and I can honestly say, I did NOT appreciate my dinner tasting sweet
