As a wealthy young woman Jane Addams could have bought a house almost anywhere. But she was not like everyone else. Ever since she was a young girl she desired to help people in need. She ended up buying a large building in the poorest part of Chicago. She not only transformed that building into her home but also a place to feed the hungry, clothe the poor, educate children, a place for homeless to wash, and safe place for children to play. Because of her generosity and kindness she helped rebuild an entire community.

I just want to shout a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me so far. You may think that by supporting #freddiescunningplan it stops at the book, but it's way much bigger than that. You're helping me to inspire other children and adults too!! You're helping me become more confident and have reminded me to work hard, play hard, dream big and believe in myself!!! So when you share/repost/follow/buy/comment or support me in anyway, remember that i thank you for your contribution to my journey! It means the world 🌎❤! Forever grateful, Chennai xoxo

Last year I got tickets to see Matilda the musical for my birthday 🍰 One of my favourite musical numbers was this super catchy song “When I Grow Up”. This @timminchin song is the inspiration behind the book, which has been beautifully illustrated by @mrsteveantony 📚 The book captures the innocence of childhood and the perceived notions of an unrestricted and unbounded adulthood, in which one can watch cartoons until your eyes turn square and be “smart enough to answer all the questions” - definitely a desire I still have for when I Grow Up 🙋🏻 The Book also includes a card to get a free download of When I Grow Up, performed by Tim Minchin, who will be at @harryhartogbookseller Bondi Junction this Saturday to sign copies #getinline

From the author of Dangerously Ever After and the authors/illustrators of The Night Gardener comes a stunning and powerful picture book: The Antlered Ship. Marco is a fox with questions, and one of those questions, we learn, is how to make new friends. Well, aboard the antlered ship, Marco and his new friends learn about life’s challenges and its wonders; they learn about resilience and hope; and they learn about the different paths to friendship. It is an adventure story that takes to the high seas and leaves your heart entirely warmed. The beautifully detailed and soft-toned illustrations by the Fan Brothers pair powerfully with the story arc to create a book that is truly a piece of art. Check out this beauty soon!
