Putting the stick collection to good use! I find nature crafts a great way to encourage outdoor time during the winter months; they often combine outdoor and indoor activity, making them perfect for unpredictable weather and limited daylight. I'm sharing some of our favourite winter nature crafts over on the blog (link in profile) - have you got any to add?
• preppin’ another preschool craft - this time, looking ahead to Groundhog’s Day! (Feb. 2nd)
Super simple & interactive - the kids can try their hand at seeing if the groundhog has a shadow or not.
Personally, I’m hoping he doesn’t see his shadow because I could use a dose of spring right about now 💐
Is your little one feeling a little unsure about heading back to school? .
📚 I love these When I am feeling... books 📚 .
We have them on our bookshelf at the moment because I have been reading them to my Son as he has just started Day Care. .

It was a mind over matter kind of workout today. 😜 It would have been easy to throw in the towel and turn it off, but I knew if I did that I wouldn’t end the workout with a smile on my face. •
One thing I NEVER do is quit! So I pushed through, sometimes slowly, modifying where I needed to (which was the case with most of the ab moves), and just envisioning the results I’m looking for. •
At the end I was a sweaty exhausted mess 💦 but I had a huge smile 😄 And let me tell you, it was WORTH it!!! 💗 #dontquit
How to make your very own squishy toy! We did this both at home and in the classroom. Huge hit with both groups of kids!!! You can see the entire video on the Buggy and Buddy Facebook page. And the link to the full tutorial on the blog is in the profile.
Cleaning Up 💦 ages 1-3 💦 After every meal we give Alexander his own little bowl of water to wash his hands and tray and he loves it! We start with a few pumps of Babyganics soap, then add water to make suds and finally I let Alexander get to “work.” I like giving him a little paper towel to get wet and help with the cleaning. Such a fun sensory activity for them and great to assist mom and dad with cleanup!

I always love handprint crafts because they make such adorable keepsakes. This Woven Paper Plate Bee Craft has cute handprint wings that are sure to delight and be something to cherish for years to come. These adorable bees have woven stripes which makes this a great insect craft to build your children’s fine motor skills and makes good use of your yarn scraps too.
One of my favourite things about this simple bee craft is that is has wide yellow stripes that leave plenty of room to write personalised messages. We love to write puns using the word BEE. How about a “BEE MINE” or “YOU’RE THE BEE’S KNEES” for a sweet bee Valentine craft or “BEE HAPPY” for a birthday?
It’s almost this time of the year... carnival season!! Find some super quick and easy DIY mask tutorials in the latest issue of @elternmagazin 🐯🤖🐤🎭

Sometimes when I work in schools I find it hard to get creative with my kiddos when choosing proprioceptive activities. Animal walks are usually my to go tasks when I want to add a little heavy work to my session. Many kids need that input in order to self-regulate and be able to attend for longer periods of time. On this specific day, however, I needed proprioceptive input to improve body awareness in one of my kids with autism. We found these foam pieces in the playground and I decided to use them as obstacles during a simple sensory motor task. As he went to look for the puzzle pieces, he needed to not only be focused on completing the puzzle but making sure his body didn’t brush the foam pieces. It was VERY challenging but FUN. I loved this activity ❤️. If you are a parent and/or caregiver: do you know what proprioception is? If you are a healthcare professional: do you use proprioceptive activities and, if so, which ones? 🙋🏼♀️
Yesterdays #craftivity with the kids was inspired by @ijustwannafinishmythought.blog. My friend Brittany has all sorts of ideas for crafts and fun with kids and having been snowed/iced in for nearly a week, this momma is grasping at straws to maintain sanity! 😜 The craft- I cut out snowflakes and a frame, placed them on contact paper, and then let the kids go crazy with sticking tissue paper all over! The result: snowy ‘stained glass’! .
What are we up to today? We’re planning ahead and getting some Valentine’s Day cards made up for our students! The Christmas cards were such a hit, they asked to make more!😱 And so the card making extravaganza begins! Check out our story for a mini how-to! #topdoglearner
Aaaah, painting with the children. Am I allowed to confess that I hate painting with the children... The mess, the threat of even more mess and the fact that it only lasts 5 minutes before you have to clear it all up. When I'm old and grey(er) and look at this picture with teary eyes, someone slap me and remind me that while the good old days were going on I was actually hovering nearby hyperventilating quietly. #craftingwithkidsunderduress#craftingwithkids#kidscrafts
