The Meal Monsters had a wonderful Thanksgiving with their families yesterday, but today they're back in the kitchen having fun repurposing the leftovers! 👩🏻🍳👨🏼🍳 Here's Pim's recipe for Turkey Tomorrows:
1 Tbsp Cranberry Sauce
Salt and Pepper to taste
1️⃣ Pre heat the oven to 180'C.
2️⃣ Boil the potato and pumpkin with a little salt. Drain and mash. 3️⃣ Chop the turkey into little cubes and mix with the cranberry sauce.
4️⃣ When the potato and pumpkin are cooled take a spoonful in your hand and add a few cubes of turkey cranberry mix. Shape the potato and pumpkin mix into an oval around the turkey.
5️⃣ Coat with flour, egg and panko breadcrumbs and place on a baking tray.
6️⃣ Bake in the oven until golden or about 15 mins.
7️⃣ Serve when warm and enjoy!
Little Fox decided it was entirely unacceptable to eat leftover pumpkin pie without whipped cream. I walked into the kitchen to find him nonchalantly making himself some. It. Is. Delicious. #mycoffeeandiaregrateful#kidsinthekitchen
It’s been a long week and honestly, today it would have been easier to teach a “normal” French lesson to Grade 3. But we have been working on a storytelling unit, using a story book called “Oliver’s vegetables“. The book talks about a little boy who doesn’t eat vegetables, only french fries. He spends a week with his grandparents and his given the task of finding the potatoes in the garden, at which point he can eat french fries. Every day of the week he finds a different vegetable and discovers that it doesn’t taste as bad as he thought. We have been working a lot on the food vocabulary and the boys have been so into this unit, that we finished a lot sooner than I was expecting. We typically end the unit with a few sessions cooking some of these vegetables together. Today, we worked with carrots. We made @ricardocuisine ‘s carrot muffins, substituting chocolate chips, because not many of us like raisins. We also used gluten free flour to accommodate some food allergies in the class. I don’t know about you, that looks like a pretty tasty French lesson to me! And, I’m so glad I didn’t stick with a “normal“ French lesson today…
⭐️THIS WEEK⭐️ We’ve gone all Christmassy already!🎅🏼Oh yes, the planning has begun!😀🌲The children were so creative with their Christmas cakes tonight! They also made turkey burgers with cranberry relish and Parmesan stars... ⭐️ ❄️ ⛄️
Those little fingers can shape the most delicious plum cookies all over the world. Baking together with my little dudes is one of the best ways to spend some quality time together. They are so motivated to help while I’m trying to save some dough to really bake it at last.😄 But we all know: practice makes perfect! At the end we always enjoy the fruits of their labor. The yummy 🍪 ! #kidsinthekitchen#plummycookies#homemade#instabakery#plumjam#szatmariszilvalekvar
