"Robin lived in a simple wooden hut on the edge of the forest on the north bank. freya, who loved flowers (and robin!), lived on the south bank. freya fell for robin and showed her affection by making him the gift of an intricate cabin in the image of the woodlands he so loved. meanwhile, over the water, robin was building a boat, which freya thought he was building in order to row over to her and the cabin. but the cabin was on the south bank, so robin couldn’t see freya or the cabin because of the sun in his eyes. he was actually heading off on an adventure. once freya realised that robin was rowing in the opposite direction she was so upset she cried tears of gold. as she lovingly wrapped the cabin in her gold tears, robin saw something glinting in the distance, so he rowed across the water towards it. he was moved by the cabin and invited freya on his adventure with him. they didn’t leave very long ago, so they are still away adventuring, but if you can find it, you can see robin’s wooden hut and the golden cabin that freya made for him, facing each other across the lake, awaiting their return."
Back in #Northumberland this time high up by the Scottish border in #kielder to enjoy the lack of artificial light & the awesome dark skies. Haven’t posted in a while, took a little time out, moved to a new town & changed jobs. All with the view to have a better work-life balance and travel more of course 😌
@martinvayro has got a new bird and she’s got him grinning from ear to ear!! @bird_mtb @benpinnick thanks for making him one extremely happy man. (And we’ve only been round Kielder red with the kids) Now he needs to go find some mud and roots to play on. 👊🏼
It's my birthday! I'm in Kielder with my two main men for a weekend of fizz and forests and dark skies and cake. Perfect rest time before gearing up for Scotland's Trade Fair next weekend. #scottradefair
Ps this is not a drawing I just whipped up today! It's from two summers ago on Arran.
The three faces of racing.... realising you’re about to run in the toughest conditions of your life.... getting halfway and thinking about giving up.... and finally finishing. Those 16km felt like 30. Still my favourite race ever!! #kielderforest#kielder10mile#highterrainevents
