I made a video of our weekend in Killbear Provincial Park and put it on YouTube, it features me struggling to get out of a kayak. We'd a lovely time and I wanted to make this to remember it. Link is in my profile if you feel like a goo. @thomasskelly #killbearprovincialpark#canada#fall#autumn
Healing nicely... this place I hold so dearly in my heart. My great grandparents were some of the 1st people to camp at Killbear Park when it opened in 1960. As did my Grandparents, my Parents and my Brother and I as kids until our teens. My last camping trip was about 4-5 years ago here with friends, but I'm there to hike the trails with my dog now every spring to fall. I love this place and all the special memories it holds for me. Every year that Georgian Bay beauty captivates me and continues to lure me back. This place is what sparked my love of the Bay and nature. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️#killbearprovincialpark#georgianbay#family#camping#tribute
While we were in #Ontario , we had the pleasure of visiting @killbearprovencialpark.
The water was quite high this year so the beach at out cottage was very minimal. They loved the large beach at the provincial park. They loved the sandbar which allowed them to swim with ease and confidence amongst the waves.
It had been a few cold days, but the day we went turned into a beautiful one. The sun was shinning and it was warm. We had packed sweaters and warm pants just in case the water was too cold, but it was gorgeous. Everyone got in and enjoyed the water and the beaches. We left mid afternoon when we could see a storm approaching on the horizon, but the gloomy weather approaching would not dampen our spirits.
In the future we hope to be able to bring a #busconversion to this place and really be able to explore the surrounding areas. One day that dream will become reality.
We made a video about our experience. The link to our YouTube channel is in our bio.
Today we said good bye to my wonderful Grandpa Beard! The one who introduced my family to #killbearprovincialpark , who taught me how to bet on the dogs in Florida, who’s backyard I learned to swim in and so much more! I will think of you every time I drink a Rum and Coke. He is an amazing man and will be greatly missed but never forgotten! #ripgrandpa#iwillloveyouforeverandalways
