End of the journey, enjoying the cold water on the feet. This is where (some of) our ASCENT photos were taken.
I love wearing wool while kayaking, the perfect accessory to stay warm on those cold days!
This ring for stitch markers is essential to every bag we make.☀️It opens and closes for ease of use.☀️No extra notions bag when all you need is a few stitch markers. No losing them in the bottom if the bag when you take them off your project. No snagging little holes in the fabric of your bag from safety pins.☀️And every bag is lined with a coordinating polka dot fabric just because. Follow the link at @stolenminutes_ to sign up for our newsletter (and be the first to know about our updates!) and to see all the bags in the shop!

I haven't had much energy for knitting lately (although I have finished a bunch since I last recorded a podcast) but I'm about ready to start another Pinwheel Scrap Block and these scraps are so special ... these are the leftovers from projects I knit in the last days before we left Bahrain and in our early days in New York before Layla was born (top left was the last pair of socks I knit before we left, bottom left is the yarn I used for my Layla Socks pattern, the one next to it was a newborn vertebrae for Layla which she wore to come home from the hospital) ... lots of memories (everything from very excited to seriously stressed) in this pile of scraps! ...
FYI I was planning to record a podcast today but incase you haven't been following over on @philippfamilylife Layla has been a little unwell this week so I don't think I have the energy to record something today ... If I do I will be sure to post here once it goes up!
I'll be back later with more yarn/colour info about the Road To Rhinebeck MKAL so stay tuned for that!

A year ago we were out in Banff and Yoho for our anniversary. While we can't go this year for the weekend, tomorrow we're instead flying over to Victoria to go whale watching!!! That's right, we're coming to see you @beehivewoolshop 😘
We took this photo for the #sskal last year.

Knitasana (Knitting meditation practice) offers me the valuable opportunity to take it slow and focus on the joy of just being.
Not trying to be anywhere else, not rushing to the next thing... Just being. Here. Now. ✌️☺️ Do you enjoy knitting as a chance to slow down and be more present? Double tap if you do!
“There is practically no activity that cannot be enhanced or replaced by knitting, if you really want to get obsessive about it.” ⠀
― Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much
Does this resonate with any moms and/or entrepreneurs out there?
This reminds me so much of my grad school supervisor. He used to say that he was a mediocre researcher, which I thought was crazy. He seemed pretty successful! 🤓 But wasn't one of the big names that spent 80 hours/week at the University, either. He had small kids, and spent time with them, and his wife, and actually had a few hobbies, too! 😱 I don't think Paul was a mediocre researcher - more like he had a healthy work-life balance ... something we can all strive for! 🤔
This IS something I'm working towards. I'm more of a frustrated and moody person by nature, but maybe I can learn to create a calm life 😉😎
