This country isn’t for everyone, but it is most certainly for us. Our minds are blown, our hearts are full, and we are without a doubt, fully inspired. It’s absolute paradise for adventure seekers, hikers, nature lovers, and those who love to photograph raw beauty. ••••••••••••••
Besides the countless incredible waterfalls, the craters, volcanos, lava fields, mountains, glaciers, ocean cliffs, seaside towns, bada** Viking history, thousands of wild horses & free roaming sheep, the NORTHERN LIGHTS!!!, I fell in love with a few other things as well....
Iceland is one of the safest countries! They have virtually no violent crime at all! Police don’t carry weapons and we were told to leave our rental in the lot, unlocked, with the keys in the glove compartment!! Can you imagine??! •••••••••••••••
Iceland is also the second “greenest” country in the world!!! I’m all about it! •Plastic bags are not given at the markets, but must be purchased as they don’t encourage the use of them. •TP is given one square at a time and all toilets have dual water conservation flushing. •They use their geothermal energy to the fullest degree possible and are on the forefront of controlling & researching climate change. ••••••••••••••••
There are no harmful animals here & no bugs!
You can drink water straight from waterfalls, glaciers & the tap! And it’s delish!
There are geothermal hot pots you can bathe in all over the place!! ••••••••••••••• I can’t wait to sort through my photos, start writing & sharing it all. We are so grateful for this experience!
We couldn’t have made this trip without our families. Thanks to my parents for taking excellent care of the girls! Schlepping to the theater, Peddler’s Village, Birthday parties, Sukkot, to Sky Zone, Special Person’s Day, baking, sushi, Chinese & more. My Dad even painted their nails! Thanks to Dave’s parents for taking the girls shopping, trampolining, pumpkin painting and hanging with their cousins they love so. Thanks to my bro & sissy in law for feeding, walking & spending time with our three fur babies when WAGS didn’t.
We are so thankful for you all!!
After an unsuccessful Northern Lights viewing tour in the middle of nowhere late last night, we were finally successful in viewing them directly from our balcony in the middle of downtown Reykjavik tonight! 🇮🇸✨☄️
