Can anyone tell me why my Arborvitae Trees are yellow? (I put this same photo on my Twitter)
We planted them as saplings 15 years ago. Fertilized with rabbit droppings, chicken droppings, or evergreen stakes over the years - no change in color.
During dry summers we have watered - no change in color.
Please let us know if anyone has ideas!

Who likes working in the yard? NOT ME. Years ago when I bought this house I thought I would become like several of my sister-in-laws and embrace learning about plants, find joy in creating a quiet sanctuary or a yard, yield ripe red tomatoes 🍅 each summer. You know what happened? After 15 years in my current home I have learned, God wants someone to support farmers markets cause I can't get more than 4 🍅 off a vine. I learned all the plants in my yard and rather despise that each doesn't prevent grass/weeds from growing in the bed. And all. Those trees we put in for shade make tons of noise in the nonstop wind that is here on our hillside. But mostly I get absolutely no joy from tending a flower bed or an edible garden. If it were physically possible to apply the Marie London method to my backyard, I would pick up each of the 11 flower beds and say, "thank you for the joy your brought at the prospect of being a Gardener. But our relationship is over and you need to go" then I would kick it to the curb. Unfortunately, removing the beds would require vast changes to our sprinkling system, extensive labor to hack it out and $$$ cause I am not dedicating more time to this joy-suck.

We've been landscaping like fiends on the weekends, and finally put this little path in! I'll post before and afters of the whole backyard once we're all done, (it started as a HOT JUNGLE MESS) but I'm super proud of @brandonthomaswells and myself for being badasses and learning how to landscape on the fly 😻🤘🏻💪🏻💪🏻 #landscapebae#weekendprojects#alwayssweaty#thehouseisnext
