Post 5 of 5 I feel so blessed to have an opportunity to work alongside such amazing people! Let’s not blame one another for the loss or the misunderstanding of how the law works in these situations. I support our law enforcement and community, and will continue to do so. Thank you everyone who came to help or donate and all those who prayed for us! I ask that you continue to pray because this is just the beginning and these people have a long way to recovery. Let’s help not hate!
A few notes I wanted to share!
1. Please verify information from reliable sources before sharing or disseminating to others. If you share original post, they will update as they get edited. When copying and pasting a post to share, updates will not happen.
2. Please, take a step back if you feel law enforcement is not doing what you feel they should. Know all the facts before pointing the finger. Although we all want to help, there is a point where we are causing more damage if we don’t follow some rules.
3. Before donating, call places to see what the need is. Maybe it’s a shelter, church, or places like Suisun Wildlife Center
4. Follow your local and nearby area on Facebook to help stay updated
5. If you know someone in the areas that were waiting at Solano College for an escort please pass this on.
Thank you! Thank you for being patient with us in a time of such uncertainty. We were blessed to be able to meet you all #contracostacountysheriff#atlasfire#californianationalguard#animalcontrol#sheriff#lawenforcement#fire#givethanks#Godisgood#lovenothate#community#weloveourcity
Post 4 of 5 Thursday came around and a whole new need was being brought to us. People needed sheriff escorts into hard closures to have 10-15 minutes to feed animals, retrieve medications or personal paperwork that had to be left behind. This went on for many days, and to some it seemed unorganized or as if sheriffs were not willing to assist. I am sorry to those who missed the beauty in all that was going on around them. Yes, what is happening is so devastating and my prayers are continuing to go out for all the people involved. With that being said, so much good was brought out of people during this time as well. I watched evacuees wait endlessly in lines to just have a few minutes at home. While they waited, new relationships were built, neighbors and volunteers talked for hours killing time. Animal Control, National Gard and Sheriffs worked nonstop to get people in and out quickly, then seeing officers getting hugs from thankful people. I was able to have conversations with people who didn’t know if they lost their home but were so thankful to be alive and have a community coming together. Food was delivered nonstop to the staging point from people who lived out of the area and wanted to make sure we stopped to eat. People brought trailers to help from Lodi, Novato, Berkeley, Southern California (nine hour drive), Brentwood and many other places. CONTRA COSTA sent sheriffs up with boxes full of donations of dog food. The next day they sent more help. Two teams of officer came to help Solano Sheriffs escort people. They did an amazing job working around the clock helping us. Not only did they have great attitudes they were able to help so many people.
Post 3 of 5 After another long day, Wednesday was upon us. Solano County SO Posse was at the staging point organizing and setting up a system that I watched run so smooth for many days after. We were dispatched out with them into Calistoga for a rescue of 6 horses. It wrecked me driving through all the devastation, seeing the aircrafts lifting water from nearby ponds, hot spots still burning alongside the road way. We arrived to meet the owners, seeing the love they had for these animals, and the hugs they gave us warmed my heart. They wanted them out safe before themselves. In less than an hour of us leaving that farm to take the horses to safety, Calistoga was in full mandatory evacuation. I prayed and prayed the whole way back to the staging point. Through the afternoon and into the night, the staging point became more set up by Solano’s SO Posse. #contracostacountysheriff#atlasfire#californianationalguard#animalcontrol#sheriff#lawenforcement#fire#givethanks#Godisgood#lovenothate#community#weloveourcity
Post 2 of 5 Within minutes of regrouping, we were told by officers there were 11 horses, 20+ goats, and sheep in the Twin Sisters area that needed out. By this time the smoke was very thick, ash falling all around us. Without any hesitation we started up Twin Sisters and worked alongside the owner to rescue 11 horses, using multiple trailers and volunteers. Another group was gathering sheep, goats, and cattle. All these animals were able to be brought safely to Vallejo fairgrounds. The night was not over and the smoke and ash were continuing to get worse. We regrouped at Costco with officers and over 30 volunteers. It was a beautiful site to see- all these people coming together to help. It was disorganized at the start and people got impatient of waiting, but who cares? We were all there together as a community to HELP. We can’t always be in the front lines, but we can stand by and be a support and resource to our community/law enforcement.
Tuesday came, along with a new staging point, more smoke, more animals to be rescued, and a lot more volunteers. Volunteers offered their ranches to help place animals in case the fairgrounds filled up due to unusable stalls. Carpenters came to help volunteer their skills and fix issues that made stalls unusable. Donations flooded the evacuation areas and our Firefighters, Animal Control, and Sheriffs continued to work endlessly. #contracostacountysheriff#atlasfire#californianationalguard#animalcontrol#sheriff#lawenforcement#fire#givethanks#Godisgood#lovenothate#community#weloveourcity

Sunday was day seven of working with Solano County and I am trying to take a moment to process the past week. There are so many things going through my brain and my heart. This was an experience I wish upon no one but will cherish forever. I feel very blessed to have been a part of helping so many. Every time I open social media all I see is negativity. I am hoping to bring a little more light to the events that have occurred over the past week from a volunteer perspective in Solano County! I don’t want to make this about myself, but I do want to first thank my Mom, Sister, Chris, Jasmine, Kris, Lisa, and Sharron for coming together Monday to help me be a part of everything that was happening this past week. We loaded up the trucks, trailers and some supplies then headed out to the first staging point. Animal control, Fire and about 15+ Sheriffs were already there. Then the waiting game began. More trailers rolled in (Vicki), (Jeremy), with a few others. We watched the smoke cover the hills for hours waiting to help residents bring their animals down to safe ground. As sheriffs drove up into the hill side and the sun was going down, all we could do was pray together as we saw sheriffs lights go from house to house knocking on doors.
Animal Control was already working hard bringing hens and a wandering dog down from the unsafe areas. All of a sudden there was a shift and it was time to start up the trucks and move closer to the fire!
