Heroes, past and future. I saw this young boy looking around the Bomber Command Memorial at Hyde Park Corner, probably not understanding entirely what it was all about, but he seemed in awe nevertheless. 55,573 young men died flying with Bomber Command during World War Two; that's more than those who serve in the entire Royal Air Force today. Most of them were in their late teens, not much older than this young boy. Hopefully he will grow up to be a hero in his own life and in his own way. Candid photo shot on film.
