After hiking about 5miles up to Nevada Falls, we got to spend the night at the Little Yosemite campground a mile after the falls. It was one of my most memorable hikes ever. Exhaustion & fear in pitch dark because we started our hike a little late in the afternoon (after flying from Wash DC to Vegas to driving up to Yosemite and then hiking to this). I would definitely do it again but would prefer starting really early in the morning and up Half Dome, one day.
@marcusmacd taking in the view of the Grand Tetons from the top of the Death Canyon trail. It would be epic to ski here during the winter. I’m not sure the hike in would be as pleasant as it was on this trip.
The mountains that divide China's Qinghai and Sichuan provinces are pretty rugged, and no less stunning. Here are some of them. Nyenpo Yurtse. Just one of the many potential places I'm thinking about teaming up with @wildchinatravel to bring some adventure minded folks here next year. Who's in? 🙌🏻
The weather was shifty, and we knew it, anyways we carried all our timelapse gear and set up a temporal camp next to a river. We stayed little more than 4hrs in this rock river beach shooting a waterfall for the next timelapse short we are producing with @juanodamiani + @santacabra
The waiting wasn’t bad, neither the ocasional rain and worries about rain drops on the lens messing up the shot. What ended messing us up was the constant sun coming and going though the whole process, making uneven light on the water and getting highlights shifting thru the frames. I haven’t seen the material on the computer yet, and even if I feel disappointed if all those hours were for nothing, we spent an AMAIZING afternoon in this insane location in Mount Aspiring NP. The deep blue of the water here was something I’ve never seen before
I love my job so much it hurts! (The highlight of the day: throwing rocks to the river for hours, Our inner kids got out and had some fun!)
I felt so cool up here and thought I must look super cool as well. Too bad I look more like an electrician fixing faulty electrical wiring. 🔌👷🏻 *le sigh* Why can't I be cool??!! I FELT cool. Why doesn't it translate?!!?! 😭😭😭 *pounds bratty fists on table*
At least the people were awesome, the food was yum, and the weekend was rad. Oh, and I tried my first kinda-crack climb this day (third pic) and led my hardest outdoor climb to date (10b) and took my first outdoor lead fall. Good times!
This past weekend's backpacking trip in the Sierra Nevada Mountains was met with some of the best conditions. The icing on the cake was a moonless night which allowed for some amazing views of what goes largely unnoticed overhead.
One of the oldest inscriptions at El Morro National Monument. Left by Don Juan de Ornate in 1605. Translated it says, “Governor Don Juan de Ornate passed through here, from discovery of the Sea of the South on the 16th of April, 1605”
For being one of the worst kept secrets in Utah this spot really wasn't all that crowded! I was pleasantly surprised! But tomorrow we are driving to Disneyland to fight through the hoards of people.
Oh and get this! We just told the kids we were headed to Disney, expecting to be parents of the year... Color them unimpressed. First thing Penny says is "I really want to go to Harry Potter World." 😐 Well shit. I would have much rather done that! Can't ever win. Lol
I can't think of a place I'd rather be than Jackson in the Fall. Two years in a row now! It's the first place I came after I left my job and coming back was a good reminder why I did. #freedom#america#jackson
