What a day.. Today was quite the achievement. Not only did I manage to complete my first lot of assessments, but I also managed my first photo shoot for my new business ✌
This balancing game from @mrkipp_ecotoys has quickly become a favourite at our place, it comes out every other day. The flower wobbles as she places the butterflies on top. I thought it might frustrate her, but she just keeps trying when they fall off. Totally loving that her determination to succeed is outweighing her desire to have a meltdown 😅 Each of the butterflies also have numbers and dots on the back so we've also been using them for number recognition and one to one correspondence. Love versatile toys! #woodentoys#balancing
Take 23 boys of varying size, ability, athleticism and talent who attend 9 different schools. Divide them into 2 balanced teams. Call one Blue and the other Gold. Train them all together. Let them learn, play and develop alongside each other for 5 years. Teach them to be respectful when they win and gracious when they don't. Teach them to support their mates and ensure they all work toward a common goal.
When you do all this right, they will come together as 1 and say:
"I'm a Hawk!"

You made your own kite today.
You often come up with these big ideas for projects and once they've taken hold, there is no stopping you. You cut, taped, and ripped materials into a masterpiece you were so proud of and very eager to test.
We brought it to the beach tonight and you were determined to have it soar.
Until.. Your little brother accidentally ripped it.
When we pulled out the store bought kite we secretly brought with us-your eyes lit up so bright and your smile grew wider than I think I've ever seen it.
Your dad helped get it in the air, and you ran with that kite back and forth along the shore until your face was beet red and your legs, jelly.
You happily passed it off to your little brother to try, and became his personal cheerleader as he tried so desperately to keep it in the air while he ran. "You're doing it Soy!" You encouraged. His face beaming with pride.
As we packed up and were walking toward the street you and I lagged behind your dad and brother. You wrapped your one arm around my thigh squeezed tight, and followed with the sincerest, "Thanks Mama."
Going to museums is fun!
Seeing the artwork on the walls just makes me feel like I am part of each piece work. Mama says I am to her as precious as a beautiful flower. Now, I can really see what she means. See, I look like one of these flowers lined up in a row.
Water Gun Paint Fight 💦🔫🎨
This was epic! I'd been wanting to try this for a while but I wasn't too sure how my little man would do as he's not a huge fan of messy play. I loaded small water guns with a paint and water mixture and we wore our canvases (large white t-shirts). We had so much fun chasing each other and hiding waiting to pounce. Daddy was adamant that he didn't want to play but of course he couldn't pass up the chance to cover Mummy in paint 🙄 The real fun came when we got the big water gun out and filled it with pink paint. Mummy was on the receiving end of two massive face shots (scroll to see the evidence!). This was another great experience of 'together art', as well as being a perfect active learning adventure for a sunny day. Best of all we have cool t-shirts to keep as a momento. See my blog for full details (link in bio).
Coby on the tea cups.
Taking four kids to an amusement park is quite trying. I have two who LOVE rides and two who don't. Trying to balance everyone's needs is never easy. But, in the end, we all had a super fun time.
