A few years ago I was surfing in this remote valley in Hawaii. Surfing by myself I dropped into a wave about 8ft tall. Crusing down the face I was hit by a massive backwash causing my board to smash into my face. Once in the water I started seeing stars, and was just fighting to not black out while being tossed around by the rough shore break. I had a voice in my head telling me to “stay awake or die”. I gathered myself and made it to the beach eventually covered in blood. As I walked up the beach and into our camp my friends were shocked when they saw me. Hours away from civilization and many tall cliffs in the way, i decided that the best thing to do was pour half my bottle of tequila on my new face tattoo to sterilize it, and chug the rest cuz why fucking not. Then @joefishadventures @larissazzz and her friend “stitched” me up using bandaids to pull the the gash above my eye somewhat closed. My face bled for the next few days and the hike out with @hihaines was messy. Once back in town i realized that my face had cracked both sides of the fiberglass on my surfboard and there were pieces of my eyebrow stuck into the fiberglass. Now with a few less braincells and a badass scar as a reminder of this beautiful place I feel lucky. The Moral of the story is respect Mother Nature, keep fighting and never give up, and your face and surfboard don’t mix! 🤙🏽😂🏄🏾🙌🏾🌴 (Picture not from this day) #Surf#Hawaii#Surfstories#Lucky#ValleysDeep#Aloha#Shorebreak#Levitate#Sacred
Second, I completed the task - "raise the notebook without the help of hands." On the first page I drew Star Butterfly, but I had to move away from her image. In a cartoon, a variety of colors does not look bad (when it does not cut eyes), but in the figure, it seems to me better to limit its palette. I made the dress Star blue, did not add the octopus, and changed the color of the wand. That would not overload the picture. On the second page, I painted how Star uses the "Levitate" spell on the pad "Wresk This Journal", and I filled my free space with my new gouache, trying to make the transition from blue to red. I want to say a few thanks to my friend Vasilina, with her we are together made this photo. Unfortunately, she is not registered in Instagram and I can not mark it.
