Everly failed a few of her breathing test last night and today so they are waiting to extubate her. We are going to start talking with the doctors outside of her room because if she hears their plan she always throws them a curve ball. ⚾️ If you have been praying for Everly, we ask that you specifically ask for her to pass her next few breathing tests so that her Drs feel confident in removing her breathing tube. Getting her breathing tube out is really the next big step in her recovery. The rest of her stats and numbers are looking great. .
I can't tell you all how blessed we feel to have so many of you rooting Everly on. ✊🏼 Your comments, messages, and prayers are truly appreciated. We feel so blessed to have such an amazing support system. If you are reading this, thank YOU for caring about our girl! 💕 .
Also, thank you @sarahannec for the cutest bow ever from @modernpiggy! I am obsessed!
"Xavi-Thiago is 13 months old and a perfect little child. He is doing great! He loves to play, and his smile makes everybody happy! We didn't know that Xavi had Down Syndrome during the pregnancy and when he was born, it was a bit of a shock. I didn't know what to do. Day by day I learnt to love him, and now I think he is very special. My sweet child. Xavi is my biggest blessing." 💙💛✨ @s.adriana_mx #enableawareness#downsyndromeawareness#theluckyfew
Though Thanksgiving isn't until tomorrow, I just wanted to take time to thank some special people in my life today. As I sit back and reflect on where I was a year ago today, I wouldn't believe it had I not lived it. I was nowhere near walking, shucks I was barely standing. Words were limited to sounds rather than actual words, thank goodness for sign language!! And any and all arts and crafts projects made me run the other way. But here we are a year later and I am humbled at how much has changed thanks to all the amazing therapists that have worked with me week after week, encouraging me to keep pushing myself. To my speech therapist, physical therapist, occupational therapist and horse therapists, thank you for getting me to where I am today so that I can succeed at anything and all I set my mind to. #thankful#blessed#grateful
"Life is like a game of chess. To win you have to make a move. Knowing which move to make comes with IN-SIGHT and knowledge, and by learning the lessons that are acculated along the way. We become each and every piece within the game called life." ~Allan Rufus
A brotherly love throwback to earlier in the summer, when we were hanging out with our youngest brother, Richard! Jez and Richard were born exactly 2 years and 1 day apart and growing up they seemed more like twins, than not, even sharing a birthday for a few years. Richard is the youngest and he couldn't understand why he had to wait a whole day for cake and balloons!
Because of them being so close in age Jez finds it really hard to not compare himself to Richard, and wants to achieve everything Richard does. It can be hard to explain, but we've muddled through Richard learning to drive, going to uni and getting a girlfriend (who is amazing, and puts up with jez's idea that she is a shared gf!!). But occasionally jez remembers he hasn't quite achieved everything Richard has and it really bothers him, so we work hard to celebrate his achievements, luckily Richard hasn't left uni and thus got a job yet, so Jez is ahead with that one!! All the same, Richard is a massively important part of Jez's life and even from Edinburgh, they speak every day. Impressive, when you have finals looming. 😊
