I will be getting back into my collage work soon but in the meantime I am having fun with @lisacongdon class on @creativebug in my watercolor sketchbook that I am using to get to know my @prima_watercolor Tropical Watercolor Set
Day 7 of my program is complete. I feel great. .
So grateful to be able to squeeze this time in while everyone is gone. .
Was really upset this morning because the kids woke up earlier and that cut into my early morning workout. But I carved the 30 minutes in just before getting on with the rest of my day. .
Even though I’m only 7 days in (out of 30) I am noticing the NEED to get this in each day. I immediately caught myself in a negative spell this morning feeling crappy about missing my usual time. So this is proving to help me be a little more positive. .
I can tackle the rest of my day with at least a little more ease now that I’ve filled my cup 🙂. .
Happy Wednesday to you all. Make sure to make time for that one thing that makes your heart smile.
“Take the time to find your neutral spine”. I love this phrase and learnt it from the lovely @elliebrown44 a few years ago. I’ve used in just about every Pilates since.
Never stop learning because life never stops teaching.

"Never not learning"
Lastig - I know! Wees vooral eerlijk, want daar heb ik natuurlijk het meest aan!
Ik waardeer het ontzettend, dankjewel! x

This month I have had the opportunity to rotate through a diabetes care center. At this unique center they have specialists from various departments that work together to treat this complex disease that affects various systems in our body. It is a multifaceted disease, so why not take a multi-specialty approach. Here on staff are doctors specializing in endocrinology, nephrology, and optometry, as well as pharmacists, physical therapists, dietitians, dental hygienists, and many researchers. Diabetes is one of the most deadly epidemics of the 21st century. It affects 65 million people in the US alone. It is the 5th highest leading cause of death. Even those it does not kill, it severely compromises their lifestyle and health. This briefcase is a visual aid to help show patients the micro and macrovascular complications of uncontrolled diabetes. The known macro-vascular complications of diabetes are CAD, PAD, and stroke. The microvascular complications include retinopathy, neuropathy, and nephropathy. People with uncontrolled sugars are also more prone to infections, heal slower, and can have difficulties with pregnancy. This is why it is so important to be aware of your blood sugar levels and manage them appropriately as a diabetic.
#janteacherchallenge and another short Introduction! Comment below if we have something in common! In 2015 I finished my MEd in Curriculum & Instruction: Literacy & English Languge Learning from @lewisuniversity (a mouthful I know!) I also got my LBS1 and Middle School Endorsement from there. Great options for working teachers, Illinois friends! Check if out if you're considering- affordable teacher rates too! (Link in bio cuz I ❤ my #almamater ) Sometime before that, I got my Bachelors from @eiu in Elementary Education. .
I'm currently considering options and spoke with a counselor for my PhD, would love to hear from you if you're a doctoral student! #thetruthbehindteaching is we NEVER stop learning! 💙📚💚 #lifelonglearner
Also #awkwardgraduationphoto for the win... 😂😂😂🎓 #beforeInstagram
New order of books to get through!!! Last year I heard someone say that if you want to achieve the knowledge of a successful person ask them what they have read and what they are reading, then you go read it. Just give me a hint and I will find it. #lifelonglearner#knowledgeispower
I hadn’t intended this kit to be for Callen(4 Years old) but knew he would want to participate as he does with anything his brother is doing. But at this age I am not concerned with his knowledge retention or even comprehension, just his pure love of learning and nurturing that. Whether he remembers we breath in oxygen and out carbon dioxide isn’t important. His excitement in the fact that the heart pumps blood is more than enough!
#SayYes So many of you are shying away from great opportunities because of your fear, lack of knowledge for the subject, you think you are not ready and so on. Say yes! Then go and learn it. Learn it to best of your abilities then do it in the spirit of excellence.
Reiki has been one of the greatest teachers of my life. For the past 10 years, I have been on a path of self-discovery that started when I was first attuned to Reiki. The relationship I had with myself completely transformed once I began practicing Reiki and alining myself with the Reiki principles. A part of myself that I had been disconnected from awoke and integrated back into my life. As a result, dynamics in my life started to shift naturally, without force or coercion. Relationships with others grew stronger, and I learned how to let go of the hurtful relationships in my life. My intuition became my best friend and something that I rely upon every day. I learned to see all parts of myself, even the less flattering parts, and I learned how to make friends with those parts. My body became more communicative with me about what it was needing and I learned how to listen.
If you're seeking more depth in the relationship you have with yourself and others, consider joining me for Reiki level I training on February 25th at Midtown Mindfulness in Reno, NV. Whether you are just starting out in your journey of self discovery or your have your own wellness practice, Reiki is a valuable skill that you will have for the rest of your life. Reiki is also a great way to discover your natural abilities as a practitioner.
I will be co-instructing alongside Whitney Roubo-Tierney, Reiki Master Teacher, with Kim Roubo, Reiki Master Teacher, consulting and guest lecturing. We will be continuing the tradition of Kim’s teaching method with a focus on ethics, personal growth and development, and fundamental Reiki techniques.
For more information, feel free to DM me or click the link in my bio! Reiki II and Reiki Master classes will be offered at future dates!
What Do You Love About Orchard?
Parker | 2014 Graduate 🦉
“My Orchard education provided a strong foundation and contributed to my acceptance at @dartmouthcollege. I certainly would not be the student I am today if it were not for the over ten years I spent at The Orchard School. I believe one of the most important characteristics a student can possess is intellectual curiosity and a love for learning. Every child is born curious, but that curiosity can be lost if you are not continually encouraged to explore, question and challenge ideas within the classroom. At a progressive school like Orchard, intellectual curiosity is not only encouraged, but it is further developed. To this day, I love learning and look forward to continuing my academic journey over the next four years.”
It’s one thing to write down your #goals for 2018 and quite another to actually hit them. The missing piece is hard work and #consistent effort. That’s where breaking down large goals into smaller, regular steps and tasks comes in. Chunking #tactics to sit below each #strategy is crucial in achieving your key business goals.
Which things will you do today, this week, this month to move you one step closer to making this your best biz year yet?
Happy or sad?
Was waren eure "Das was sch***ade, aber ich hab daraus gelernt"-Momente?

BOOK RECOMMENDATION 💗💗 this was recommended to me by top business coach @coach.mrm Murtaza Manji.
Author, Angela, draws on her own powerful story as the daughter of a scientist who frequently noted her lack of “genius". She is now a researcher and professor, and she hypothesises that “genius” doesn't really drive success, more so it's a combo of passion and long-term perseverance. 💞
Just hit the download on @audible_com ! Who is reading it with me?! 💞And do you think smarts or perseverance play a bigger part in success? 💕
