Saint of the Day
Salome was the cousin of the Virgin Mary, the wife of Zebedee the fisherman and the mother of James the Greater and John the Evangelist. She was one of the three Marys, Mary Salome, present at the crucifixion.
She was also around before Jesus’s birth; although, when she doubted Mary’s virginity and examined Mary manually, her hand began to wither and drop off so she had to quickly apologise. She anointed the baby Jesus and thirty-three years later was going to anoint Jesus’s dead body in the sepulchre but found he had risen.
As a follower of Jesus, she had asked if her sons could sit on either side of him in Heaven - Jesus said it wasn’t his decision but that she should bear in mind the first will become last and the last will become first.
She later sailed to Provence with Mary Magdalene; her relics are kept at Stes-Maries-de-la-Mer.

It was supposed to be the adventure of a lifetime – the ultimate motorcycle ride across Africa. Instead, it turned into almost 6 years of hell at the hands of al-Qaeda. Kidnapped, chained and constantly fearing for his life, McGown clung to the hope of being reunited with his family and was finally released in August. In his first in-depth television interview, he opens up to Carte Blanche about his terrifying ordeal.
That’s Carte Blanche this Sunday at 7pm on @mnettv, @dstvza channel 101, and again at 8pm on M-Net Plus 1 channel 901.
You can also stream the show live on the DStv Now app from 7pm.
- France -
The first time I went to France was a trip with my dad. I was only 7 and I had my first ever 13hrs flight and went to this place filled with completely different culture of mine. Since then I fall in love with European culture. I met my childhood friends there as well. At the time, I only spoke Japanese so I had no idea what people around me was saying, but I thought the different languages are beautiful.
Maybe, that’s why I’m so interested in anything related to language🌱

My name is Detective Olivia Benson. I was named that before Taylor Swift’s cat. I’m the cattiest cat on earth. And this...is my story. When I was born nobody wanted me. Not their fault, I’m not one to hold a grudge. I went from foster home to foster home until I found her. Tall, brunette, hairless. She talks a lot. I try and make conversation but she just laughs. Says I’m screaming. We get along either way.
- Election Day -
People in Japan, it’s Election Day.

No excuse. We have rights to decided who will lead our country.
It’s a day that government have to listen to people’s opinion.
So go vote.
Let government hear your opinion.
How to keep selling drugs even after you're arrested
A soldier who had partied with David asked to buy some X requesting to come back later in the barracks to get it. When he arrived he had an unexpected “friend” with him David had never seen. The situation felt strange. David knew he had been set up and the CID (Army's Criminal Investigation Division) had been watching him. David said he had nothing to sell.
David unofficially moved (because he lacked the rank to officially move) off base continuing to sell and take drugs. One evening returning to base after buying pizza he saw lights flash in his rearview mirror and pulled over. The military police informed David he had crossed a solid center line and they would also need to search the car. After finding nothing, one of the officers identified as CID and demanded David turn over drugs to him.
David insisted that he had no drugs. They continued searching until they found an empty canister that once held drugs, but where now only powder remained. The residue served as proof to charge him with possession
of a controlled substance.
After agreeing to help the police catch the very people he had been selling to and partying with, the officer took him back to his platoon until his trial. In exchange for David’s help, the judge would be lenient when it came time for sentencing.
Within a week brazen David headed back to his supplier to
pick up more drugs to sell, but things went sideways and David decided to disappear.
While AWOL David sold drugs for survival money and also
continued to consume them at an alarming rate. Ecstasy became one of several different types of drugs he took to self-medicate the anxiety and depression.

Sunday Stories - With just over a week before we fly to Uluru excitement is brewing amongst our dancers. These type of opportunities for our dancers form a bond and sense of unity as we all work towards a common mission. Let me introduce Abi... “Ever since I was young I wanted to be a dancer. All of my other sisters danced and I just couldn’t wait until I was old enough. I had to be 6 years old to start. I remember one of my first classes, I put my leotard on backwards and throughout the whole class I was so self conscious. Now thinking about it what was there to be so self conscious about 😊. In 2015 we heard of Justice Dance Project, my sisters and I all signed up and we enjoyed dancing with Mrs Sophie very much. Sophie is truly a blessing and still is such an amazing/important mentor in my life. I dance with JDP because I believe God created dance for a purpose. Dance is not only a wonderful and fun experience but it can also be a gift, a door into the spiritual world, a way to talk and hear God’s voice and see Gods miracles. Dance is truly a powerful thing. I am so thankful that I have JDP in my life. My name is Abigail Fayre, and the word “fayre” (fair) has many meanings. One of which is just - “justice”. God is a Just and Fair God. In some way I feel that my own name is connected to this dance school. I feel I am part of a winning team. I love dancing with Justice Dance Project because no matter where we go, what we do or who we meet, Gods love is eternal and so we can be certain in faith that we will prosper. I hold onto Psalm 23 where ever I go - Abigail. #dancereclaimedlivesrestored#justicedanceproject#justicedancetheatre#dancecompany#dancestory#lifestory#dancemission#justice#creativity#spirituality#shiftthenation17#lovemydancers ❤️
Real life shakti in the midst of her messy home, children, animals, exhaustion and pain. This was part of my yoga practice today. The first I've had in many months because of my chronic pain. It's been discouraging to watch my body slowly lose mobility, strength and balance. Aging before it's time. Although it almost feels as though my body is catching up with my mind, which always seemed too old for the youth expressed in my face.
