♦️Weighted Wednesday: Scott Curls♦️

Curls are an excellent way to strengthen the biceps, protect the elbow from injury, and improve Chin-Up performance. They're not just for bodybuilders 😂. Bodyweight enthusiasts can use them too! But there are plenty of variations of curls to use. So which do we pick?
.
One form I really like is the Scott Curl. The Scott Curl starts off the with elbows in front of the body. The elbows being in front of the body changes the angle of the exercise so that the forearm is parallel to the ground near the BEGINNING of the movement. When you're doing curls, the movement is typically hardest when the elbows are parallel to the ground. So Scott Curls are great for overloading your biceps near that beginning range when your elbow go from straight to bent.

This has great benefits for prehab and performance. For example, Scott Curls can help improve that initial pull for your Chin Ups! They can even assist you if you're working toward One Arm Chin Ups. A stronger initial pull will let you have more energy to finish the rest of the movement.

What about for performance? Scott Curls can help you by keeping your elbow safe. They can help give you a few more seconds to tap versus an "overzealous" partner armbarring you in BJJ, help prevent your arm from extending too far when you throw and object or help keep you away from tendonitis! Plus, who doesn't like a set of good looking arms?! There are two kinds of people in the world: People who will admit they like to look good naked and liars. 😂

So on your next bent arm training session, perform a few sets of curls at the end of your workout and hop on the gain train!

STIRR is a seriously dope modern american food restaurant in Deep Ellum. The location is top notch. The food is as well. We had shishito peppers and Gorgonzola Waffle Fries for an appetizer. (Not pictured)
I had the 21 day dry aged ribeye burger. I had never had dry aged beef, but damn it was legit!! A must try burger if you’re in the DFW Area. Fair price, big portions, and bomb ass food!
