It’s a beautiful day to be alive. The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of emotions, it’s been crazy busy and the 1 thing that keeps me grounded is taking time for myself. My favorite place to do just that is in the gym. Training because I love it and I need it for my physical and mental health
Today is beautiful because I’m healthy. Something that can easily be taken for granted and never should. Tell me what makes today beautiful to you
I loves you and the support you’ve shown me this Holiday season. Another WHITMAS video + giveaway is up on my YouTube!! Go, go, go!!!❤️ p.s. massive love for @jordy_b.photo
Glutes and hamstrings 🍑💪
This video features a barbell hip thrust and a glute ham raise 🔥 I love lifting heavy but I also do a lot of hypertrophy (muscle building) work 💯 This typically involves movements that place more direct work on specific muscles and doing them with higher rep ranges 👌 This enables a mixture of powerlifting and bodybuilding so you get the best of both worlds ✅ This concept is also known as "powerbuilding" 💪 If you want to know exactly how I structure my lower body training I have just released a 12 Week Powerbuilding Program which is now on sale on my website !! Link is in bio 💙
You know what’s really cool? That you have the choice to be whoever you want to be and that you have a CHOICE to live the life YOU dream to live.
Every moment you waste trying to wish your life was something else, or someone else’s, is time wasted living out your true passions. Your true successes. So choose you. Choose your dreams. Choose to make your life the best it can be by being the best you that you can be.
Don’t waste time trying to live out someone else’s life, because you will not succeed.
My choice, and my dream- to share my journey with you. All the ups and downs and to provide you with knowledge and motivation in health, fitness and life. Cause being strong is pretty freakin cool. (Outfit tagged)
Slowly losing the abs, but putting on the size is the goal and always has been so I can come to terms with this. However, this was just after I ate 2 subs for lunch 🤷♂️
Strength is increasing slowly but surely 😈 but man does that chest not want to grow 😓.
Might need more volume or even just more frequency. I will make sure I take care of that and experiment with what I think will work in the near future!
6 Months 💯% plant-based ❤️🌱 I cant believe it’s been 6 months 🙀
Simple tips on becoming a gym pro.
Building muscle is simple, & gym bros know this better than anyone. That’s why they’ve simplified things & eliminated lower body all together. They stick to a strict routine consisting of half rep bench press & biceps curls.
Gym pros use a well-rounded routine. They prioritize compound lifts like, squats, presses, deadlifts, rows, chin-ups, etc. because are the best & most efficient for building strength & muscle.
Gym bros are after the quick fix & always looking for the latest & greatest supplements to fast track their gainzzz. They spend more time & energy snapping gym selfies & searching for the newest Test booster than they do actually training.
Gym pros know that making progress requires consistent hard work & patience -- training 3-5x/week & developing good, sustainable nutrition habits with a diet consisting primarily of quality whole foods.
The gym bro knows everything -- a doctor of Bro Science 👨⚕️ His biceps & stringer tee may give the illusion of knowledge & experience -- you may even trust him for a spot. But, be careful. It’s just a clever way for him to get some extra curls in while claiming, “it’s all you bro.”
Gym pros are experienced, but know theres always more to learn. They’re devoted, & spend time inside & outside the gym advancing their knowledge & putting it into practice.
In the spirit of yesterday's post, let me introduce you to this strong girl Amanda.. Happy to know that i was able to turn her workouts into a passion and that the gym became her happy place.. Let her words inspire you this morning. #liftingweights#fun#healthier#stronger
♦️Weighted Wednesday: Scott Curls♦️
Curls are an excellent way to strengthen the biceps, protect the elbow from injury, and improve Chin-Up performance. They're not just for bodybuilders 😂. Bodyweight enthusiasts can use them too! But there are plenty of variations of curls to use. So which do we pick?
One form I really like is the Scott Curl. The Scott Curl starts off the with elbows in front of the body. The elbows being in front of the body changes the angle of the exercise so that the forearm is parallel to the ground near the BEGINNING of the movement. When you're doing curls, the movement is typically hardest when the elbows are parallel to the ground. So Scott Curls are great for overloading your biceps near that beginning range when your elbow go from straight to bent.
This has great benefits for prehab and performance. For example, Scott Curls can help improve that initial pull for your Chin Ups! They can even assist you if you're working toward One Arm Chin Ups. A stronger initial pull will let you have more energy to finish the rest of the movement.
What about for performance? Scott Curls can help you by keeping your elbow safe. They can help give you a few more seconds to tap versus an "overzealous" partner armbarring you in BJJ, help prevent your arm from extending too far when you throw and object or help keep you away from tendonitis! Plus, who doesn't like a set of good looking arms?! There are two kinds of people in the world: People who will admit they like to look good naked and liars. 😂
So on your next bent arm training session, perform a few sets of curls at the end of your workout and hop on the gain train!

This was my lunch
STIRR is a seriously dope modern american food restaurant in Deep Ellum. The location is top notch. The food is as well. We had shishito peppers and Gorgonzola Waffle Fries for an appetizer. (Not pictured)
I had the 21 day dry aged ribeye burger. I had never had dry aged beef, but damn it was legit!! A must try burger if you’re in the DFW Area. Fair price, big portions, and bomb ass food!
