Field hockey faces off against Woonsocket away today, 4 p.m. for varsity and 5:30 p.m. for JV. Varsity cross country runs in East Greenwich at the Freshman State meet at 4 p.m., the same time JV soccer plays 8 v. 8 against Wheeler away.

A HUUUUUGE thanks to my buddy @412handtools for taking 142 files and roughly 7 hours of video footage and helping me turn it into this 12 minute video. I learned a TON about incorporating video making into my making process while we worked on this video and hopefully it will be much smoother sailing moving forward, but I gained a massive amount of respect through this process for the folks regularly posting instructional content on the internet, it is an unbelievable amount of work!! At the end of the day though, it is really exciting to share in a more in-depth way about process and what's going on behind the scenes around here. I'm super stoked to bring more video content your way. Next up: a toolchest tour. I'll go through the "basic" toolkit I use to teach beginners joinery and share some of the stories behind my very favorite tools. Also currently in the works: building a shavehorse and hybrid woodworking: farmhouse table.
To the girl who smiled at me so genuinely at the start of my long run yesterday: thank you for setting the tone for my next 12 miles. I tried to pay it forward but the last 3 miles may have produced more of a grimace instead.
Side note: only owning this GPS watch post-surgery means I can “PR” at every distance possible AND complete my “longest run” all in one day! Here’s to a comeback 😬
Day 23: Plank jacks. Don’t forget, if you have recently had a baby, it is important that you are doing the foundational work to ensure you are not coning during these planks. If your belly cones (the middle pushes out) or you feel yourself peeing, your pelvic floor is not strong enough for these moves yet.
If you are not having these symptoms, planks are a great way to strengthen your TVA muscles and get a strong total core (not just the six pack ab muscles).

Daily Gratitude: Mei's vet visit went well and I have a happy healthy pug.
I went to my chiro appt this morning and left feeling like a million bucks.
I got an interview at a job I really want, not just something I begrudgingly applied for to make money.
I signed up for a snatch skills clinic this weekend and got the tenth and final spot.
And I'm making this face because for the first time in a while, I was able to do American kettle bell swings PAIN-FREE. Two UNBROKEN sets of 21, actually. Had to use the 23 lb one instead of the 35, but still, I crushed that workout and I am one very happy and GRATEFUL girl right now. 🙌🏼💪🏼☀️😎

When you can’t: yoga. I woke up pretty miserable this morning. As my period comes closer my energy tanks. That is the nature of the #PMDD Beast. I don’t let it stop me from taking care of me. Instead of intense exercise I opt for deep breathing restorative yoga. I feel better and more focused, even with my super active #yogabuddy joining me. Starting in November I am hosting a 30 day online self-care group.
We will focus on good nutrition, real food, exercise, and staying in tune with your body.

Starting off this Monday strong. I felt good getting this 5k in today. The goal was to just run steady state and work on my form and HR. I kept a 9:25 avg pace and I am feeling pretty good about that. I finished with some strength training and metabolic conditioning. Happy Monday. Today's workout:

Today's training with Liz (@elizabethweitzel) was meant to keep her body thinking fast in the middle of the swim season. One more tune-up session on Wednesday and she'll be ready for the CLC Conference Meet this weekend!
I feel like a next-level genius right now, people. I converted part of my son's new swing set into my own little yoga sling set up and I'm in love. I know we will be outside much more in the mornings. I just need to figure out how to drink my morning coffee upside down.
