This is how my new found information came about. The black gasket is the original gasket that came with my iSi whipper 30 years ago. It's been feeling stiff for a few years, but worked fine.
I use this gadget several times in November and December every year. Everyone loves squirting out whipped cream. It's fresh and delicious. One often hears "would you like a little pie with your whipped cream" in November.
Why whipped cream in the summer? The hubs came home from work and said he'd gotten some chocolate pudding at work and it was awful. He seldom gets sweets. I said let's make some at home and get that taste out of your mouth.
To surprise him I also got some whipping cream. He had a delicious bowl of cold chocolate pudding with a spritz of fresh whipped cream 4 days in a row. It really was delightful on these hot summer days.
When I took the iSi whipper apart for cleaning the tab pulled off gasket. I decided the rest of the whipper is in fabulous shape I'll see if I can get a new gasket. While perusing the site I found out about infusing alcohol and olive oil with herbs and such. All these years I had a high tech chef gadget and I was only whipping cream!
