56/179 There seems to be a debate as to whether these are lemons or limes??? 🍋? All I know is they were hand carried from CA to boston and then back to Nashville just for me 💕 and they're perfect for my g&t this evening!
Home made salsa!! No white sugar but used 1 teaspoon coconut sugar to take the acidity off. Lime and cilantro are my favourite. Good on salad or chicken instead of salad dressing for a change. I found a new way to squeeze my limes! #limes#salsa#cilantro#coriander
Tip #24 for National Nutrition Month: Flavor foods with aromatic herbs, spices and citrus fruits. Many herbs and spices have beneficial health effects. For example, garlic, ginger, and turmeric all contain potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compounds, and lemon and lime juice are rich in antioxidants. In addition to these added health benefits, studies show that eating foods with stronger aromas leads to taking smaller bites, which may lead to a reduced calorie intake overall. And not only that, using herbs and spices to flavor foods reduces the need for sodium. Eating too much salt can increase blood pressure, and increase your risk of heart problems, osteoporosis, kidney disease, and even certain cancers. So when you are cooking, focus on adding herbs, spices, and citrus to improve the flavor of your food. More flavorful food is more enjoyable food. And a more enjoyable diet is a more sustainable diet.
