Climate change has a huge effect on the Earth. It effects the plants, animals, and its habitats, so much so that some areas are becoming inhabitable to the point where all life forms suffer. The warm colors represent the rise in climate change. There are hardly any markings on this piece to show the loss of life.
This was my final project for my painting class. I wanted to make pieces that were inspired by the environment. I wanted to bring awareness about the environment’s current state, but also bring a positive aspect to it by following it with a piece that evoked hope through positive progression.
I named each panel, but named the overall piece Credence. I named it this because the definition of credence is “belief in or acceptance of something as true”, with synonyms being: belief, faith, trust. It is important to have belief and faith when looking to forward progression. Belief and faith fuels positive actions toward achieving your goals, which I believe can happen if we put the same energy into trying to be environmentally conscious. The definition of acceptance also runs true because not everyone accepts the state the environment is in. Through education and awareness, I’m hoping that we can open more eyes to see the truth.
We all don’t have to change our lives immediately or in drastic ways. We can make small gradual changes over time and that adds up to a big change if we all do it. By cutting down plastic use, cutting down our consumption, and making conscious choices, these will be positive effects on the environment. We may not see the results right away, but hopefully in the next generation and moving forward, we can see those changes.
