1.5 oz. Prime 23 Gin (@stillheaddistillery)
1/4 oz. mead
1/4 oz. lemon juice
1/4 oz. homemade grenadine
Stillhead Distillery is one of British Columbia's newest Distilleries. Named after the Steelhead salmon, this distillery pays homage to that which is beautiful, strong, and determined. They've opened strong with the release of their Prime 23 gin and Prime 1 vodka, along with a whiskey underway.
Why Prime 23? Because that's how many tries it took them to nail down the perfect recipe for a West Coast, London Dry-inspired gin. Made from 100% malted British Columbian wheat and barley, this gin contains botanicals such as juniper, coriander, angelica, cassia, cubeb, cardamom, star anise, lemon, and lime peels. It has the warm, heady nose of a West Coast gin, but also the crispness and zest of a London Dry. The cubeb, coriander, and lemon really shine through as the brighter notes in the palate, while the star anise and cardamom are more prominent in the warmer nose.
For the cocktail, a warmer twist on the Clover Club. This is definitely a sweeter variation of the Clover Club as it uses mead (a honey-based spirit) in place of dry vermouth. Homemade grenadine is easy to make, and often much better than store-bought. The only things you need to get started are pomegranate juice and sugar. The addition of orange flower water or pomegranate molasses only act to make your homemade grenadine that much better.

We received our first official #boozemail this week(!), a beautiful bottle of organic, reposado tequila, from the folks from @azuniatequila.
To kick off the week, we decided to make an autumn-inspired variation of my favorite drink - the Corpse Reviver No. 2.
🌵3/4oz @azuniatequila reposado tequila
🌵3/4oz Chai Pear #ElementShrub
🌵3/4oz @donciccioefigli Finocchietto (fennel)
Add all ingredients to a shaker. Shake with ice and strain into a coupe.
The vanilla notes of the reposado with the chai pear shrub work beautifully together in this cocktail. The orange and fennel (a classic combination - esp in food) bring everything together in a really well-balanced drink.
If you have only had a Corpse Reviver No. 2 with gin, I highly recommend swapping it out for a reposado, esp. this time of year. If you do, tag us - we would love to see your variation.
Be the one everyone will thank this Thanksgiving, and shake this up. The great thing is it’s less calories going for a second drink than a second plate!
- 1 1/2 oz @stgeorgespirits Botanivore Gin
- 3/4 oz Rosemary and Cranberry Infused Syrup
-1/2 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
Add ingredients into mixing glass, then add ice and shake. Fine strain cocktail into a coupe glass and garnish! Cheers

We were playing around with some @elementshrub once again and really wanted to showcase the Pineapple Turmeric shrub & club - the one we found most interesting. Everyone loves a pineapple margarita so we thought such a format would be perfect for this shrub.🍍🍹⠀
The tartness and effervescence is quite refreshing and the smoked sea salt helps balance out the acidity which makes this one go down quickly! Swipe over for our recipe 👉🏻⠀
We've reset the countdown to next #MargaritaMonday . Anything you'd like to see us Margar-a-tize?👇🏻👇🏻⠀

Rum and coffee? We would NEVER disagree. Great cocktail from Tess and Timo at Door 74 (featured a few week’s back before their depart for their new bar - Flying Dutchman Cocktails - opening December 2017). “Our #cocktailoftheday is “Papa will have some honey, honey”. Made with #donpapa rum, #miodula honey-vodka, fresh lime juice, fresh ginger, #bitteredsling coffee bitters and cinnamon.” 📸 // Door 74, Amsterdam
