~ M O O D Y ~ lately, I have been all over the place both literally and figuratively. -- Once upon a time, I worked at this juice bar where I served up eastern and western medicine in the form of plant based food and drinks. I met people from all walks of life. While some were further along on the road to healing, others were just getting started. I was somewhere in the middle. Kind of like I always have been. Aware, informed, but always hungry for more. My soul called for the mountains; I answered the call but incurred several surprise fees afterwards. One of them was the stark discovery that my health was in worse condition than I'd believed and that I could no longer deny it. The other was that the place I had called home for 25 years truly was not the place I needed anymore. -- When I returned to said juice shop in worse condition than I started, I realized there was no time left to delay. Not long after this, I met a stranger who became an instant friend. We bonded through our trials and tribulations. And it is because she shared a story so similar to mine that I knew it was no accident that we met. She was the epitome of extraordinary. -- I picked a place and I set a date. I would drive back up to the mountains in less than a month and that would be home. The pressure was on. With each passing day, I felt worse. There were several nights where I thought I would not wake up to roll out of the same bed I had climbed into. In the midst of my physical and mental setbacks, Irma developed. I was set to leave in two weeks but she pushed it forward. I wasn't ready. I toyed with the idea of waiting but in the end I packed my car and headed north. I stayed with my gracious for a week before I knew I had to return to tackle the monster I left behind. -- Here I sit. In the thick of it. I quit that juice job with next to no notice. I invested more time and forked over more money to support our convoluted healthcare system. I sold off another 30% of my belongings. **So what have I learned during all of this?
