“On November 8, 2013 at 7 AM, M/V Eva Jocelyn, which was anchored in the city harbor, ran aground and killed residents of Barangay Anibong. It was pushed by a 7-meter high storm surge caused by winds in excess of 370 km/h brought by Super Typhoon Yolanda.
This shipwreck stands as a remembrance of the thousands of lives that perished throughout the City of Tacloban on that day.” ~ These words are written on the wall. The first time I came here I was oblivious of the horror stories of the victims buried underneath this shrine. When I met a Yolanda survivor at Chew Love resto cafe, she gave me a no-holds-barred truth about the residents of Barangay Anibong. I couldn’t help but shed tears after I learned the truth. I promised myself that I’ll come back to commemorate its 4th anniversary. What I’ve noticed was that Marawi rehabilitation is more faster than the rehabilitation of Yolanda-affected areas. However, our beloved Tatay Digong already demanded the fast-tracking of housing construction. After the successful hosting of the 31st ASEAN Summit, I’m very optimistic that Tacloban and Marawi will rise as a promising city just like a phoenix 🙏🏻🇵🇭👊🏻 #tacloban#prayforthesouls#yolo#carpediem#workhardtravelharder#livelovetravel#philippinesfirst#pinasmuna#discoverphl#backpacking#wanderlust#wanderer#travelbug#travelnow#travelphotography#travel#weekendwarrior#freespirit#travelstories#travelstoriesph

In the jungle the mighty jungle I hope the leopard sleeps today... Look at him go 😁 now. Before this it was uphill with the same road condition. But after after I was taken in at a hindu temple "see the room in the picture" I know it already tells enough but I'm gonna say it anyway:" cozy sleeping area, drums, my bike and a fire pit in the middle.", in other words: perfection. #cycletouring#bikepacking#nepal thanks again @outdoorgalaxy ;)
