Giant Live Oak in New Iberia Louisiana. The property owner told me the tree was dated by the university and its estimated to be 500 years old. The diameter of the trunk is 29 feet. The branch to the right is the diameter of an average adult oak tree. The tree has a hollow area in the trunk and inside the wood is petrified. They say the tree has been struck by lightning three times that they know. The picture does no justice, its an impressive sight. They say original Acadians used this tree as a meeting place. If this tree could talk... #liveoak#oak#oaktree#louisiana#louisianaisbeautiful#iglousiana#oldtree#landscapephotography#d5200
Day 36: I am grateful for the kindness of strangers. As I stepped closer to this 400 year old destination, a man taking photos of his wife offered to take one of Jeremy and me. He was generous with his time and creative in capturing the massive live oak tree. He was simply being thoughtful and for that he has my admiration.
The Japanese soaking tub is finally up and running 🔥 the heat pump had been disconnected for months during construction. Isn’t it beautiful?? And my mom made us the wine bottle citronella tiki torch, pretty crafty. 🐞🐜
