The first photo was taken of me in August last year - I realise now that I was nutrient depleted after my third pregnancy and breastfeeding my little man, plus looking after my 2 other kids - netball was on most evenings and my husband was working 5 nights, a very busy time!
I started the wholefood capsules in November, I cannot believe how much of a difference it has made, particularly to my skin health and energy levels! My husband was polite enough to not say anything until after it improved but he pointed out that my skin previously looked grey and like I ate takeaway food every day!
Disclaimer: I get less sleep now than I did then (thank you George) so this is not a contributing factor. I was also still taking pregnancy multivitamins in the first photo, which clearly didn't help.

A @behindthebigredbarn selfie! What!? 😵 I'm not a selfie gal, so this is probably as close as I'll get to one. (Sporting my favourite headgear, of course) My page is about healthy living, and although this pic is a selfie, it's not about ME, exactly, it's really about "the self". A sort of reminder for me to look after myself. Part of living a healthy life, is making sure to carve out some time to nurture your soul, so you can be the best version of yourself. Sometimes we get too busy & caught up in things, becoming distracted from what's really important to us. The stress just keeps piling on, we get run down, or we seem to always get sick, we may even lack motivation or energy. Let's get real for a moment, no one is perfect & immune to feeling that way. We have ALL felt that way at some point, & it sucks. 👎🏻Feeling that way is a good indicator that it is time to slow down & nurture oneself with rest, mindfulness & peace. We feed the body with healthy foods, but it is just as important to feed & nurture our mind & soul. This week my boys are away at camp & it's my time to calm & quiet my mind. Although I LOVE being home with them for the summer, the house alive with noise, busy with friends over, & lots of activities to ensure they don't get bored. It is wonderful, but there isn't much downtime or quiet time for me to recharge. This week, I could run around trying to get all the things I've needed to get done all summer finished, or get caught up in the "back to school shopping" mayhem. Instead, this week is about making sure I take the time for myself, to do the things I love to do, without feeling guilty that I am ignoring my kids. I am looking forward to the silence, that time to check in with myself. Recharging the soul & mind is an important lifestyle practice in order to be the best YOU you can be,.. for yourself & for your loved ones 🙏🏻💙

This mornings banana protein pancakes 🥞
I was working all weekend (the joy of being a freelancer) and didn't have a proper Sunday, so today is my Sunday; and Sunday = pancakes 😁
I made this with:
•1 eggs, whisked
•1 mashed banana 🍌
•1/2 a scoop of @vegateam_uk @vega_team Vanilla protein powder
•1/2 a tsp of baking powder
•1 tbsp of organic oats
•A sprinkle of cacao nibs
I topped with Greek yogurt, frozen and fresh berries, and some @pipandnut Coconut and almond butter. I finished with a tiny grating of dark chocolate 🍫 ✨✨✨
This was such a perfectly balanced meal:protein, carbs and healthy fats. 🤗

My highlight of the week so far here @peakhealthswiss-gut health boosting goats milk yoghurt made at the tiniest farm stand here in the mountains of Saas-Fee. Goats dairy is easier to digest then cows dairy, is less processed, and these goats are free to roam on the pastures, eating a natural diet. Talk about clean eating!

I challenge myself with things like #metconmonster I made it to #Day12
Today I did Burpee Blast Chain, because, well, burpees. They're not my favorite, so that probably means I need them in my life to challenge me and change me. This was my second time doing this workout, and I improved. Made it to 3 rounds with the push ups (on the knees of course!) and 3 rounds plus back up to 6 on the 4th round of squat jumps.
Goals and challenges help us push ourselves and discover strength we may not even be aware that we have.
But it's not all about physical strength and physical change.
God calls us to be strong in Him. And just like our physical bodies, we have to train spiritually. That training includes prayer and Bible study. It involves giving our time, talents, and treasures where He's leading.
Later this morning on my Facebook page I'll be talking about physical and spiritual fitness and looking at 1 Timothy 4:8 and how we can apply that to our lives. Hope you'll join me.
