#tuesdaytip - buy simple ingredients in bulk and save lots of £££! 💰It's often surprisingly quick and easy to make something from scratch - for instance, instead of buying a tub of nut butter, just get a bag of plain almonds and blend them up - add a little salt and oil if you want (although it's not necessary). Same goes for nut milks - just add water, blend and strain.
The added benefit to doing it this way is that you don't have to worry about any questionable added ingredients. You're in control of what goes in your food 💪
I like to go right back to basics and buy sproutable seeds, that way I'm getting the absolute best value nutrition. ...hey - wait a minute - how did that om bar get in there... 😏😏 @ombarchocolate @buy_whole_foods_online
I am celiac. It's in my DNA. The gene has been switched on and expressed for 7 years now. I hope to shed some light on this issue and hopefully be of help, guidance and support to others.
I'm highly allergic to gluten and also a majority of it's cross reactors: soy, corn, rice, millet, oats, dairy, yeast, coffee, buckwheat, hemp, sesame, quinoa, tapioca/yucca/cassava, amaranth, sorghum, rye, barley, polished wheat, spelt, teff, eggs, potatoes. I have the worst allergies and reactions to soy and corn, and gluten directly (wheat, rye, barley, spelt, polish wheat) with more mild reactions to the rest.
Depending on which food I come in contact with, I'll have a different physical response. This picture shows my response to my corn allergy. This is only the external part of what goes on. Internally, I develope severe abdominal pains, bloating, digestive problems, puking, full body water retention and swelling (edema), 10+lbs of body weight added in a week, insomnia, kidney and lymphatic system blockages, and many more.
Our house is gluten free from top to bottom with the exception of a few cross reactors that we'd like to remove.
When something like this happens, I identify the culprit, remove it and immediately switch to 100% all detox fruit diet (melons, grapes, berries) for a week or once I've significantly decreased the symptoms, and I take Dr Morse herbs to get my lymphatic system and kidneys unclogged in order to detox quickly. Being a raw vegan, this isn't too extreme and easy to implement. 👍 I think it's a great system and hopefully others have a good relief system in place too. 💚 Much love to all the Celiac's!
💫🌊The sea water on the coast of the Nusa Islands, Indonesia is SO CLEAR 🌊💫 On this day I rented a kayak and pedaled the perimeter of the small island. At one point I got out of the boat and floated naked in the water, just listening to the sounds of silence.
Thank you nature, for providing me with peace and presence 🐬🌴🌸
Beautiful, vibrant meal on this super hot & exhilarating day! 💧🌞 Unexpected great days are just the best aren't they 👏🌿 This is frozen nectarines, papaya and mango blended up. Beautified with some more nectarines, banana slices and oranges as well... ooh chia seeds too 😘👉 Met a few seriously cool humans volunteering this morning that fueled my entire day..!🎉 Did a lot of driving, which means listening to a lot of muuuusic 🎶♡♡ and a lot of time to reflect on my gratitude for this lifetime! I've always felt strange and out of place, but I'm learning to fall in love with this planet- totally and completely☇🌹❤ falling head over heals for music, listening to others speak being simply themselves and being WEIRD and KoOkEy any chance I can.... really can't explain this bliss..! 😜♡♩ See, the thing is though for some reason when I fall so in love with something I attach so strongly and fear it will leave me or slip out of my hands or somethin', haha! I'm falling so in love with life, that for some reason I feel a slight worry in the back of my heart... Why? Can't one live and love 100% invested in this life, without fear..? Hm. I want to live this life being so all in it, ya know... although not attached too strongly. My friends, I'd love some advice! My heart is very open 😊❤💫 I'd love to understand your perspective on this. Peace & Love, sweet ones! Xo
KELP! What is it and why do we need it?
Kelp is one of the highest food sources of iodine that is out there and available for us. Every cell in our bodies needs iodine to function properly and our diets are SO depleted in this essential mineral. Kelp helps replenish EVERY mineral in the body. Kelp boosts the thyroid which in turn promotes weight loss, treats diabetes by improving blood glucose levels, helps build strong bones because it's such a rich source of vitamin K, and it acts as a natural anti-inflammatory because of it's rich mineral content. I take a supplemental kelp or use this product on my salads every single day! I love the energy boost and clarity I feel after taking it.
Salad below is romaine, tomatoes, sunflower seeds dressed with cilantro, watercress, lime juice, cucumber, black pepper and KELP! Simple, light, and satisfying!
I started my new job on Saturday. It's not the job I was hoping for, but it IS the job that will get me to where I want to be, one baby step at a time. It will pay for my yoga, my two youngest to attend ballet, and two trips, one a white water rafting and zip lining adventure and the other a Christmas trip to watch The Nutcracker in a Bavarian village (here in the states) These might seem like silly goals to some, but to me life is full of joy when you're active. I am seeing progress from my juicing/raw diet by leaps and bounds in all the areas I had hoped for. A month ago I was homeless, jobless, and filled with despair, today all my family is working, we have a new apt., we're working out, and are a part of a brand new community. I really believe the change started with self love, and that started with giving myself the healthiest food I could, knowing me and my family are worth it. Also healing and supporting the pineal gland, the third eye, for a spiritual renewal. A spiritual growth can change your outlook and that can change everything. For the first time in a long, long time I don't feel like the world is against me. Life feels like it did when I was a child, with endless possibilities available. I am so excited. I want everyone to know how powerful living foods can be, how transforming these nutrients and enzymes are to your body, mind, and spirit.
was passing through for an iced coffee and noticed this...heads up😲☝️sprouted grain vegan bagels sprouting up @starbucks . . . "Sprouted grain bread is a healthy alternative to white flour or whole grain flour bread. Sprouted grain breads are becoming popular among health conscious people and those with mild sensitivities to wheat or gluten because of the health benefits when compared to white flour. Although, someone with moderate to severe gluten intolerance, Celiac disease, Crohn's disease, and allergies should not consume any type of product containing gluten. Even sprouted grains still naturally contain gluten. Sprouted grain bread is better not only because it uses the whole grain, but the process sprouted grains go through actually breaks down the proteins and carbohydrates in the grain, increasing vitamin content to the consumer.
The sprouted grain process involves soaking the grains in water until they begin to grow a sprout. The growing environment is highly controlled, including the water temp, air temp, and the time grains are allowed to sprout. Once the grains sprout, they are drained and mixed together to be ground up and used. Before the sprouted grain is used, it is a living food. Enzymes are released during the sprouting process, which break down proteins and carbohydrates. This process helps make sprouted grain food low glycemic and easier to digest. Traditional grain breads are harder to digest, and the body loses a good portion of the nutrients because it is unable to digest them. Sprouted grain breads provide the body with grain that has already been broken down due to the enzymes that exist in the living sprouted grain. Nutrients are absorbed immediately into the body, and are not lost in the digestive process." - an excerpt taken from Food For Life Baking Company
We are outside watering all my baby trees in the foodforest. They got beat up yesterday by that crazy heat. And it's supposed to be worse today. I love teaching my son how to grow food. It's not just important that he knows how he needs to know why. So I am always telling him that the main reason we do this. Is because the food we grow is going to have way more nutrients then something you find in a grocery store. And besides that it's going to taste better as well. And the other reason I tell him is that if you don't grow your own food you won't be able to try alot of the foods that are out there. There is so much out there that they don't produce for the grocery stores. It like this quote I heard that I love. "Your health is your greatest wealth. Love yourself by eating the rainbow lol. Goodvibes
Mung bean #sprouts on flax bread with @nutcrafter_creamery #rawvegan cheeze that I got from the lovely folk at @qualityvitaminsandherbs 👍

Felt so nourished eating this salad. Made with baby spinach, wakame (seaweed), cauliflower rice, red capsicum/ bell pepper, sprouts, sprouted legumes, peas, mushroom, coconut oil (approx 1 T), sautéed onion, garlic, cracked pepper, cayenne pepper and Braggs Aminos (alternative for soy sauce). One of the longevity secrets of the Sardinian Blue Zone is that their diet was primarily lean and plant based with meat being largely reserved for Sundays and special occasions. Likewise, the Blue Zone in Okinawa ate mainly a plant based diet with meat being reserved only for infrequent ceremonial occasions in small amounts. While the Blue Zone in Loma Linda also followed mainly a vegetarian diet and as for those who ate meat, it was recommended only in small portions served as a side dish rather than as the main meal. (Dan Buettner, 'The Blue Zones'). 💙*Blue Zones are areas of the world with concentrations of some of the world's longest-lived people.
