Documenta 14. Otobong Nkanga (born 1974. Nigeria) This artist actually created special soaps that are made in the Middle East through a special technique existing for generations, and is attempting to preserve these local practices and products in an increasingly globalize world where multinationals are taking over with standardized products and indirectly destroying local crafts. #young_art_collector#documenta14 @documenta14 #crafts#localcrafts#africancraft

Been looking forward to collaborating with local stained glass artist Fran Asbeck of The Lead and Light Studio. Now it looks like it is going to happen. Fran provided these pieces of art glass and a beautiful small panel piece to use in my hardwood boxes. Stay tuned to see the final products. #clarksburgwoodworks#hardwood#stainedglass#craftsmen#localcrafts
The woodlands surrounding Buckinghamshire & the Chiltern hills have long been seen as a source of quality materials for woodworking, from carved artwork to more functional objects.
The pictures here exemplify the varied forms of Buckinghamshire woodwork.
A carved panel from 1990s Milton Keynes & the delicate paper imitation marquetry on this 1890 Chinese-style cabinet show how artistic designers have worked with the local beech wood.
The elegant tea caddy & late 1800s pencil case (designed to hold long, thin slate pencils) both show the practicalities of walnut wood.
Hey everyone, sorry it's been so long. I FINALLY got round to listing some new items. This is my best seller on my market stall, but I just didn't get round to listing it before. Perfect for the colder weather.
This floral fabric scrunchie was created from a skirt I bought in Italy 🇮🇹 at a vintage flea market. This pattern reminds me of all the beautiful wild flowers in Italy that I really wanted to take home with me. 🌺 #kintsugishop
This fabric will always remind me of Thailand 🇹🇭 I got this as a gift from the pastor and his wife at a children's home I was serving at during the two weeks I was there. They showed so much love and generosity that was truly inspiring. I'm excited to share apart of Thailand with you all. And to be able to give back to the children's home I was able to serve at by making and selling things like scrunchies with this specific fabric. #kintsugishop
