The smoky ginger ale provided the perfect base notes for our 'Jessica Rabbit', but here @bigfun_sleeman has created a bright and complex cocktail for the spiced variant @fevertree_uk have released. The 'Independence Daisy' is a blend of Cognac, Ancho Reyes, turmeric, lemon and the spiced orange ginger ale. Bright and snappy but with a great depth and, er, spice.
🍸DRINK WITH A VIEW🍸
What a fantastic day I had yesterday with the gorgeous @chescarina at @bokanlondon - their bottomless brunch was AMAZING, 3 courses of pure deliciousness 💕 If you haven't been, GO! We managed to spend 7 hours there 😂 They have a bar, a restaurant, a rooftop; what more can you ask for. If any guys are wondering where to go on a date, this is the place 👌🏼 For me, it was goodbye lunch and drinks ... and my god did we have all the drinks. Special shout out to the barman (I think his name was John Luca?! Fuzzy memory sorrrrry) who kept us topped up all day and highly entertained 🔥 #LondonsCocktails#Cocktails#Rooftop
The drinks upstairs are distinct from what we do (but if you're hankering for a Daiquiri mid-dinner, we'll bring one up to you!), but they share the signature style that flows throughout the Lyan company. This is the 'Greengage' – it celebrates the eponymous fruit that crops up a couple of times on the menu (cos they're killer in the short window when they're around) which sit as the star in this drink at the start of the meal. Served along with the brined tomatoes that help redefine the notion of 'ripeness'. @lyan.Cub doesn't do pairings, but it's one of the ones where the dish and the drink fit neatly as one. It takes the vanilla-brazil nut- rye spice of @Belvederevodka and wraps it in an awesome green acidity. Cider vermouth (think herbal green green apples) and chamomile round it out to be a light spritz for setting your palate up for the rollercoaster of deliciousness you hit across the set menu. 🌿✨🍏🍸🍹🦁
Celebrate London's Autumn Season with this delicious cocktail. @mayorofldn, @londoncocktailclub & @drinkupldn have teamed up to create London's Autumn Season, made with Portobello Road Gin, Pedro Ximénez Amontillado Sherry, pear, Demerara, lemon, egg white and walnut bitters and garnished with freshly grated nutmeg.
Our tables give the perfect backdrop for shooting the dishes and drinks. But they were also created as they do good for the planet too. Although we don't focus on upcycling, plastic is a wonderful material when it is used to good, long-lasting effect. Plastic water bottles would be a revelation if each person was given a bottle for their whole life; lightweight, cleanable and incredibly strong they are more than capable of being used day-in-day-out forever. But like so many plastics, they are single use. Thousands of yoghurt pots get wasted daily, so they've been compressed into our bar top and table tops – not only do they reuse this resource, and have beautiful flecks of colour and bling, they have a lovely tactile effect muting the sound of plates and glasses, and feeling soft and warm

Mezcal week! We've had a bit of a fave mezcal drink on the menu since the beginning and it's proved so popular we can't really shift it anytime soon. A split base cocktail, it uses the sweet, fruity layers of Dewar's blended scotch and the very different smoke of Del Maguey Vida. With a vegetal, earthy smoke, along with a green sweetness, the 'Man on Fire' dances across warming spice, citrus, sweet fruits, and a malty green brightness from an oolong + pine syrup. It's a drink to celebrate the nuances of each spirit, but also show a different side to scotch and mezcal. Pic credit @thejoerihoste
Tomorrow we're hosting a party to tap our brand new private @woodfordreserve Barrel for the first time. We've created a special menu for the evening, including the iconic Woodford Old Fashioned, as well as a mouth-watering New Orleans Milk Punch.
If you haven't encountered this classic before, think of it as an easy, no-egg eggnog, with an alluring blend of sweetness and richness, and a deep-flavoured kick. Its fullness of flavour, silky texture and nutmeg finish makes it the perfect Autumnal drink, now that the grey English days seemed to have returned.
We'll be serving ours, made with our own unique expression of Woodford Reserve on Thursday night at our barrel launch party from 7pm. We'll see you at the bar!
The new kid on the block! Our new look cold brew concentrate is now available from @masterofmalt.
@caspar_sm is the finest hand model in town 😂 He also makes some damn tasty drinks when he's not modelling....... 👀
Thanks to @ninelivesbar for hosting us last week. It's a must visit! And of course @phoebemontague_photography 📷
Our pals over at @fevertree_uk have launched a couple of special new products that will be joining the regular range soon! A Smoked Ginger Ale and a Spiced Ginger Ale work brilliantly to open up new sides to your favourite whisky, but they also do the same across a range of spirits in cocktails too. Head Bartender @bigfun_sleeman has created one a piece – this is the Jessica Rabbit (a Smoky Ginger if there ever was one), a light aperitif of Martini Extra Dry, Aperol and Ardbeg, crowned with the Smoky Ginger Ale and garnished with a pink grapefruit slice rolled in black pepper. So special it'll be part of our LCW bonus serves but it's available all through from now.
We're bringing back your favourite late night jaunt #sovereignloss this week for 2 nights only.
Chris and Joe are taking over the basement this Friday and Saturday, shaking up a storm till 3am.
Then we're finishing the weekend upstairs with a ballin' boozey brunch by chef Paul Croasdale of Michelin star @alynwilliamswestbury 🍸 🔥
A suitable Autumnal take on the G&T which will warm your cockles on grey English days like today. We're counting down the hours before we can go home and hunker down with one of our Apples & Pears Gin and Tonics. You can find the recipe on our website. Chin chin... 🍁🍂
