I'm a certified Primal Health Coach.

Now what is is Primal exactly you may be asking

well........ over the next few post I will give you a little history on what it is and what it can and has done for people over the past decade or so.

Firstly

the Primal Blueprint.

The Primal Blueprint is the book where it all stems from.

This book was authored by a guy call Mark Sisson.

Mark Sisson used to be an elite level triathlete.

Since finishing with competition he has undertaken a journey of discovery using himself as the subject of a personal experiment.

He has read extensively on all things health, exercise, dietary and wellness related.

Over the years Mark has not been afraid to alter his path or admit when things have been wrong.

He is able to do this because he reviews as much evidence as he can get his hands on.

The Primal Blueprint is constantly being updated and tweaked as new evidence comes to light.

He lives and embodies the lifestyle he has brought into the mainstream.

As you can see from the pictures, 
there's a significant difference in body composition from his athlete days to where he is now.

Personally I also aim to improve myself as I get older and not use age as an excuse to whither and die.

Hereditary factors aside,

the true catalysts for heart disease, 
oxidation and inflammation, 
occur from adverse dietary habits and lifestyle practices that are unrelated to saturated fat or cholesterol intake, 
but closely related to excess carbohydrate intake/excess insulin production and excess intake of easily oxidized polyunsaturated fats.

Some other lifestyle practices that promote oxidation and inflammation in the bloodstream are smoking, poor stress management, insufficient sleep, and chronic, overly stressful exercise patterns.

Sometimes we are our own worst critics and the fear of not being good enough holds us back from speaking up or sharing our talents with the world 🌎 Nobody is perfect.  We are all beautifully perfectly imperfect and sharing what we have to share whether it be perfect or not is better than holding back... Beauty lies in the imperfections.  So today get off the fence and bravely step outside your comfort zone and share a gift 🎁 with the world 🌎 that you have been holding onto, whatever it may be!.

As an example I held off on starting this social media channel for years even though I had the burning desire to inspire and help others.  It wasn't until one day when I just got tired of seeing others doing the very things I had dreamed of doing and realizing that the only thing that separated us was just the simple act of doing.  Besides even if you are stuck in perfectionistic ways, the only way to truly perfect anything is to just get going and keep working at it.. For instance waiting to go to the gym until you have lost weight or have a perfect body denies you of the health you deserve!  I guarantee you that all those perfect bodies gym types have before pictures that would surprise you 😜everyone begins somewhere so just go for it! Perfection comes from doing and practice, practice, practice!

So this week as promised we shall be using the ab wheel.

The work is is based on till outs from a kneeling position.

You may find it more comfortable on your knees to use a mate or a cushion.

Kneel witg your feet crossed

Tense your core

Now roll forward keep core tight until your arms are at full extension and just your nose touches the floor.

At this point stay under tension and return to the start position.

Complete this once in the first minute, twice in the second, three times in the third etc etc.

Go up to 10 minutes and then back down to 1.

This is a controlled exercise so don't rush it. Emphasis on a tight core throughout.

In contrast, a lifetime of excessive caloric intake provides no impetus to divide cells more conservatively or to up-regulate cell repair.

For example, burning lots of calories, replacing those calories and tearing down and rebuilding muscle results in accelerated cell division throughout the body.

The popular fitness concept of contrasting chronological age with a physical fitness marker commonly described as "physical age" clearly illustrate how fitness and healthy lifestyle habits correlate with ageing. 
Fitness pioneer Jack LaLanne was described as having "the body of a 21-year-old" even as an octogenarian because he could perform physical work efforts on par with a fit youth in peak physical condition.  Inactivity can hasten the demise of organs to the extent that one's physical age again supersedes chronological age but in the wrong direction.

Its obvious how inactivity can hasten ageing but it can also be argued that chronic exercise or other forms  of overly stressful exercise can have a destructive and accelerated ageing effect similar to that of sedentary living.

For all fitness activities, there is an optimal pattern of volume, intensity and frequency of workout that allows an individual to enjoy exceptional health, delay the ageing process and minimise risk factors.

Abusing the muscles, organs and energy systems of the body with extreme and/or destructive physical activity counteracts the beneficial effects of a more sensible active lifestyle.
